hi guys, my name is saj, im new to the zone and was wandering if anybody could help me with an idea iv had

i have bought my self a 1994 L reg 318i cab last month.. i was looking for a K reg 325i cab at the time i came across this mint 1 owner low millage full history L reg E30.. i just could not resist. :D

i have since got hold of a 1990 G reg 325i cab as spares or repairs ( tatty body work).. :?

i am wanting to take the engine, box, loom, etc, out of the 325i and drop in to my 318i for more power.

can you guys advise me on this? is it resonably plug and play? will i have to modify engine and gearbox mounts or will they just drop in? also if any one has done this before would they advise it and what exactly will have to be changed apart from the obvious parts such as engine, gearbox and diff..

thanks guys, hope you can help, regards SAJ. :)

Take all the 325i bit´s from the 325i and put them into your cab.
This should sort you out for the engine and drivetrain + radiator setup, then you´ll have slight wiring changes to make, but your no where near there yet.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

as Gunni said, gut the 325 and fit the complete front axle, X member engine and box with struts and brakes from the donor car, all will match up then.

Wiring is easy enough once you get that far.

Keep the logbook from the donor car though as your's is a late MUST HAVE CAT car you'll need to proove the engine is older than the car and non cat to get an MOT !

fit the Oil Cooler too !
