'They say not to touch?' ignore that.

On the R90 there's a smaller brass adjuster, which comes screwed in and should generally be left there as it lets as in at idle only and has no effect thereater, I assume that your vapourisor gets as hot as the coolant, and that your engine thermostat is in good working order?

The larger brass adjuster controls the mixture, as you're lean at the top you should start unscrewing it 1/4 turn at a time.

If this shows no impovements then you need to consider the size of the LPG pipe running front to rear, is it just 6mm copper, if so it's possibly not big enough? How old are your LPG filters and vapourisor, they don't last forever.

I took my shaft out and it measures 9mm, although this part is never actually exposed by the trap door.[/quote]

yes vap gets hot very quickly, engine/cooling system is in top condition.
Vap is new, any adjustments (believe me ive done them all) make no difference at the top end, i think the pipe, filters etc can be ignore as when on open loop it runs fine no hint of running lean and can make it run very rich all the way thru with no problems.
still convinced its a problem with the blos carb

Best take the top off of the BLOS and cack the diaphram.

How's the BLOS mounted, could you take your air filter off and see the trap door, ie check that it opens fully when the engine is revved hard.

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

IIRC, mine is between 13.5:1 and 15.0:1 right through the rev range.

When I fitted the AFM in place of the MAF, I had to screw the adjuster on the BLOS in quite a way, although I had something like 14.0 - 16.5 with the MAF.

I don't think the adjuster will go in much further, so I'm kind of thinking that maybe I should try to get hold of one of the "economy" metering tubes.
....... But then I'll be back to constant fiddling again. So I'm going to wait a while before making any decision.
