Folks,

Have an E30 323i (k-jet) that i'm swapping in an M20 325i (motronic) engine and then converting the engine to the M20b28. I'm aware of what's needed to do the B28 conversion but any tips on the k-jet to motronic.

Have the donor 325i car so should have everything i need. Isn't there some wire I need to splice on the motronic loom to stop the loom going up in smoke?

Any tips or pointers greatly appreciated!

BTW it will also be an Auto to Manual swap!

The earlier e30's with the round C101 had a ground wire to pin#20, and the later engine looms had a red/yellow wire carrying 12v to pin#20 of the C101. If you connected them, you would have a lot of smoke! 8O
Cheers for that Will, yeah it has the rectangular plug mounted on the bulkhead. Not yet looked at either looms but are the wires the same colours so it is a simple case of just mating (splicing) each loom together?

Let the fun begin... :D
Thanks again Will, should make life a bit easier. I shoe horned the engine out of the donor 325i last night so the engine build should begine tonight.

There's a good bit of a difference between the coolant systems on both cars, is it easy enough to make the pre-facelift system work in a facelift engine bay?
