Im looking at exhaust manifold options for fitting a turbo to the m20. I want to run a holset hx35 like alot of the americans.

I know i dont want a 6-1 cast manifold because it will just ruin exhaust pulses and flow but i also dont want the price of a custom tubular manifold if i can help it. Alot the the guys overseas run the manifold adaptors.

Does anyone know if they fit with a rhd steering rack?

How much power are you hoping for. A cast 6-1 manifold from the likes of TCD will be fine for 300 hp. Remember with a manifold adapter you still end up with your cast manifold. 666 fabrication make RHD manifold adapter for the same price a TCD manifold.

TCD rhd manifold doesn´t work without modifications.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

an adapter to move the turbo away from the radiator as there is no space infront of the turbo when it´s in the car for a air filter.

I rewelded the manifold to move cyl 5-6 in place of 1-2 and then backed the manifold so that 1-2 where in place of 3-4, this also cleared the oil filter which would have to be moved with an adapter.

I don´t think a lhd manifold adapter will work in a rhd car, but can´t say for sure.

Id be aiming for more than 300bhp, however drivability and turbo response are high on the list of priorities.
With the 6-1 turbo manifolds exhaust gas will backflow into other cylinders, which hurts combustions and fuel efficiency.

The standard manifolds might be cast but with the adapters it runs a split pulse design which is much better and my reason to use a holset.

Dont want to buy the adapters then have to modify them, i might aswell just get a tubular if thats the case
