its a Car Club event "indoor" show, not seen any mention of it so i thought i'd plug it a bit
its replaced the donington shows which was getting cramped and poor over the last few years.
this has a much bigger hall ( twice the size of donny ) and will have a bigger selection of cars on show. the cars on the indoor disply are all car club registered and some independant cars will be on display as well. lots of traders will be there, this is usually the best show of the year to pick up a bargin or hunt down the rare part you are after
there will be an out door display/show area as well next to the hall
general parking is under cover for 100's of cars and every one is welcom. i've been there for abmw show about 4 years ago and it found it to be a good show and decent venue.
ps mods, can this be a sticky thanks

Sweet, i went to the one at stoneleigh a couple of years ago that was shared with the Porsche club.
I will be there, Donnington was only on my doorstep but i had gone down hill big time and needed something doing to it.
At least we don't have to stand out in the cold anymore

Glad i saw this thread as i didn't know about the location change
My personal opinion and it is one shared by other ex-BMWCC members is that the BMWCC has become detatched from the enthusiast is more geared for the concours and new BMWs.adit wrote:care to elaborate ian? isnt it going to be worth another long drive then mate? any exact addredd if im not dissuaded? thanks.
The CC is very well off and yet still charges considerable sums for us to take our pride and joys along, which creates and generates money for the same club. We provide the show and they take the money.
Purely from my personal experience there is little done for the older type car and the magazine is out of touch with its membership. Read a copy yourself, you get brand new beemas, weekends at Champneys for wives beauty weekends, wine runs down to the South of France etc.
There used to be a time when there were a lot of enthusiasts operating within the CC but that group have dwindled and it seems it is now more about raking in revenue for the CC rather than serving its members.
I may attend the odd show if its local and some friends are attending but for me the CC has become almost elitist.
Their forum is now pretty much dead, something political happened and it died almost overnight.
Nope, for me I prefer enthusiasts sites, much more interactive and not with annual membership fees, charges to get in anywhere and discounts offered which can be gained pretty much freely anyway.
Just my opinion.

Anyone know? I'll be going along and would like to see the Zone there.E30Demon wrote:Will the Zone have a stand? And how do we put our names down?
E34 525tds - on the way to replace 325i
E30 / 34 spares

My guess is the zone won't have a stand as its a BMWCC event. They'll be plenty in the car park though.
Looks like i won't make it now though as i am now waiting for my 3rd and hopefully final flywheel to be delivered!

The last time the show was held here there was a large indoor space for the show itself, but there was plenty of parking space just outside and in adjacent barns which were, like Donnington, more interesting than the show itself.
They need introducing to a Bentley manual and a socket set, if you ask me.
Spot on. Champagne runs? Trips to Burgundy? The Henley chuffing Boat Rally?HartgeH27 wrote:Stuff about the BMW Golfer's Club

See you guys there...doors should be open at 10am...and many cars on display of all ages
The O2 register, E21's, lots of E30s promises, M's, Alpinas etc and standard, Z's and some new models
Should be good and guarenteed to be dry......indoors

Got back and some very nice cars...range of old to new cars and Dips had a good display of modified cars and also some race cars...even a 1920s BMW ready for restoration...as you see at Essen
This should develop into a bigger show as the years go by...well worth a look next year

It was very good - some real quality E30's there. In fact virtually everything in the hall was nice (two B8 4.6's together) and I didn't recognise anything from the old Donington show. The indoor car parks were rammed with all kinds of interesting stuff - it was well worth the trip down although the trade stands were crap.
I don't agree about the car club. No, they don't want to get involved with rubbish (who does) but it's come a long way in the last 2-3 years. It's sad that the forum has died* - the only real backward step. Ian - where else do you get a full day at a trackday with open pitlane for £150? £40 a year might be steep but that's 76p a week and it opens you up to trackdays, 10% parts discount if you don't already get it plus a decent mag every month. Jeff H and Co have transformed it imo.
*It will wake up a bit if every Zoner who is a BMW CC member goes on there - I do.

I went yesterday and was impressed with the quality of the show altogether. There was no defined parking so you could park in whatever manner you wanted, (although inside parking was supposed to be restricted - it wasn't). The exhibition hall was clean and well lit and the quality of cars was fantastic. The 02 Register was in attendance with some lovely 2002 and 1602 examples, also an original BMW 2000 Neu Klasse saloon, a number of 3000 CS/CSL's and some lovely Alpina cars. So that kept me happy!
There was also the cleanest M3 I have ever seen. I haven't seen it before, it's Lachs silver with red leather, on Belgian No. plates. anyone know who it is? I saw Dips' cars there too, all very nice.
There was also a 1600 Gt and an M1, we assumed they belong to BMW Bracknell.
All in all a very good day out for a tenner.

i enjoyed it,the people displaying were very approachable and friendly.i had a good chat to a bloke with a bubble car and another with a gorgeous e34 m5 le.there was a good range of cars as others said and some stunning e30s both inside and in the carpark.as regards the club where else do you get the chance to go 2 laps[sideways]in a v10 m5 with sabine driving like i did last year.then i went in the tuned thorney motorsport m3 csl chasing sabine .this year i got two laps in a new v8 m3 with bob harper from bmw car driving.ill never afford cars like these so its the chance of a lifetime.yes its a bit expensive but worth every penny for me.i had a right laugh in my e34 525 at donnington and actually caught and passed an e30 m3.my cylinder head has now cracked but thats another story.some enjoy polishing and showing.i like the track side of things.it takes all sorts and the club has something for everyone.ps i saw andyboys 7 series and the e34 from performance bmw outside.car of the show for me was the e21 323 in white, although the old csl,s were lovely as well.
