Over the past couple of years, Dilston has established itself as our main event - it really is as good as that!

Last year's show attracted 20 BMWs - by far our biggest turn-out for any event to date. It will be particularly pleasing if we could beat that figure this year.

If you're unsure whether to enter your car, or haven't been before, then full details of last years show can be found here:- http://www.bmwclubne.co.uk/Newsletter/July06.pdf . Don't be put off by the judging - if you don't want to enter your car, then that's fine - the most important thing is joining in with our biggest day of the year.

This year's event is being held on Sunday 01/07/07 and as usual all the proceeds will be going to MENCAP - a most worthy cause. I'm intending to arrange to meet at the same point as last year - the car park to the south of Corbridge, but this, together with the time, will be confirmed nearer the date.

MG Northumbria have agreed that we do not need to send in entry forms, provided that I supply them with a full list of entrants. They will return the passes to me so that I can distribute them on the day. With all cars being entered into the show program, they require the following information:-

Name
Home town
Model
Year
Registration number
Colour
Do you want your vehicle judged?

Please let me know your details as soon as possible and don't forget that entry is strictly by pass only.

Thanks,

Mick

Why not Daz?

Already got 13 certain entries so far off the other forums and that includes 3 E30s - an M3 Sport Evo and two 318is. The M3 is coming from Scotland - he though it was good enough last year to come again.

There'll be more coming off here - including Chris (Billgates).

There's 14 signed up already, and I've had a few on asking for details, but haven't decided yet.

Only a week to go before the entry list closes, so don't leave it until it's too late.

Ric, it's still stuck on the ramp waiting finishing off. Apparently the expected problem with the loom is still causing trouble and there's a pulley that needs changing. I'll get on this week, but doubt if it'll be ready for Dilston.

Cheers,

Mick

Yes Jim, still on.

I've got the passes, just need to sort out a meeting point to hand them out as last year's place isn't big enough!

If anyone fancies coming but hasn't signed up, just let me know as I've a couple of spare passes.

Cheers,

Mick

Ric, still waiting to hear - only thing waiting for now is a crank pulley, got one off here for a couple of weeks ago - was supposed to be sent last Monday, but the garage says it hasn't turned up yet.....

Jim, if it rains it's your fault!

Because of the large number of cars expected to turn up this year, I've decided to move the pre-show meeting point to Morrison's car park at Hexham. We don't have permission to use it so the cars will need to be kept to the back of the car park and well away from the shop. Entry passes and display cards will be handed out before we set off for Dilston.

Image

If we meet for 09.00, this should give us enough time to sort out final arrangements and get to Dilston after the initial early rush of entrants.

I've a couple of spare passes, so if anyone has changed their minds and now would like to come, can they get in touch please? According to the BBC, the weather will steadily improve from tomorrow as the week goes on. If you don't believe me, check this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml

Don't forget, don't go direct to Dilston because you won't get in without a pass.

If anyone needs to get in touch, I'm on 07801 905566.

Thanks,

Mick.

I've been through to Dilston this morning with Terry and although the ground is wet, there's no standing surface water. There were no obvious signs of cars getting stuck as the cars that were already there had no problems getting around. We've spoken to the organiser and they are quite confident that the show will go ahead.

Alan is arranging a gazebo so if the weather does take a turn for the worst there will be some shelter.

Cheers,

Mick
