It's the 25th anniversary for the Callander Classic this year

...and by a strange coincidence it's the 25th anniversary for the E30 too!

So, I suggest we organise a stand at the show so we can celebrate the 25th anniversary of both together!

I have attended the past 2 years as a BMWCC member, but to be honest E46's are too new for a Classic Car Show. A stand of 10 or 20 E30's would look bloody marvellous!!!!

I've already contacted the organiser who would be happy to accomodate us, all we need are interested parties who are willing to commit £6 to book a place on a stand in the show (for the Sunday only, if people are interested we could make a weekend of it and camp too - there's a party on the Saturday night with live music etc.) Anyway, here's the email I got from the organiser Tony:
Hi Garry,

Great to hear from you and of course we would be delighted to accept
your
entry.

Next year is our 25th Anniversary, see attached. We have had considerable
difficulties in getting our web site updated mainly because we are
splitting
the site and placing our Le Mans activities on www.lemob.com. There
will be
links between sites. The sites should be on line by tomorrow if not
already.

Try www.callanderclassic.com

Everything you need will be on the site however I also attach a club
entry
form.

Best Regards

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR,

TONY
Here's the website:
http://www.callanderclassic.com/

If people are genuinely interested I am happy to organise it. Please let me know!

Gary

P.S. Email notifications aren't working so if you want to go post here and PM me, thanks!

Fair enough, however there were plenty of folk on the Loch omond run who I've never seen at a BMWCC meet so we should be able to accomodate an E30 stand too! :D

We should do something to celebrate 25 years of an icon! 8)

Yeah mate, you crack on just letting you know that I'll be there. Apparently the club are wanting this event to be our Scottish national event, like Gaydon, so the more the merrier.

Why not get names and just jump in with us and we can have a massive stand.

You don't even need to be a member of the club

A Scottish National Event would be good, and why not Callander it's central and big enough.

2 guys who weren't members turned-up last year in lovely E30 cabs and got chased away...

Anyway, I think a stand full of E30's would be the biz, so I'll continue to try and drum up support and we'll see what happens. Maybe we could co-locate (just don't mix the E36's in with us... :D  )

I think the reason they could'nt get on was that we were only allocated a specific number of spaces. I'll see what we can do about co-locating. i'll make sure the E36's are kept far enough away :P :P :P

Hi Gary, how you doing, met you last year at Callander, it was my favourite event of the year :D

I have already said I am very interested to go again on bmwcc site but as I would want to bring my E30 guess it would make sense to be with the other E30's if this goes ahead

I would like to go on the Saturday as well cos they did a run that sounded good but spose weather will decide that one!! (will be a bitch in that field if it rains all weekend  )

Hi Geri, how are you?

Of course I remember you, and the 318iS too of course.

Yeah, I'd be up for the Sat & Sun. I have friends who have done this before and said the Sat night party can be good for a laugh. The Saturday run looks good too.

So far it's:
1. Gary P
2. Mikey
3. CraigG (pending above)
4. Ian (320iAN)
5. Grantfk10
6. Geri

Once we get reasonable nos. I'll get in touch re: the money side... all £6 per car for the Sunday!

Anyone else interested in making it along for both days?

Yeah, there's an option to camp (for clubs only). On the Saturday they put on a party with live music etc. Bring along the BBQ and beer and you have a good weekend!
