I've never been to the ace but I've heard all about it - I was thinking of bringing my E3 3.0 Si along to the next German night. I imagine it must get quite busy - when's a good time tot arrive? Is it worth going?

It's best to be there by 7pm especially when the weather is good and on bank holidays

Like the E30 Zone meet a few weeks back?

It has crossed my mind to have a shark nose meet at the ace

I wouldn't have thought there would be enough quality tin for a show, if it's restricted to 'Pre-Lutz'.

People would travel for something like that though I thinkbab-91 wrote:Kos wrote:It has crossed my mind to have a shark nose meet at the ace

When's the next Zone meet at the Ace? I'm going to go to the next German night with the E3, unless of course it's rubbish and not worth going.

What sort of era were the cars that were there?rh306 wrote:I've only been to one so far, very cool concept, let down slightly by the cars all being a bit too new. A 70s/80s German night would be better..
I've got some pics, I'll upload them this PM. Not much of interest apart from a very clean 318is on 14" BBS, an E34 M5 and a couple of E30 M3s. The rest was a bit of a motley selection, a couple of drift spec E30s with ridiculous front camber, lots of E36s, the odd 90s 7 series, one 190E and a few other bits and bobs. Nicest car was an dusty looking E28 5 series parked up near the tube station which didn't look like it was part of the event.. I might have just gone to a quiet one, others will know more..anothere21323i wrote:What sort of era were the cars that were there?rh306 wrote:I've only been to one so far, very cool concept, let down slightly by the cars all being a bit too new. It's beginning to sound like this isn't really my bag....rh306 wrote:I've got some pics, I'll upload them this PM. Not the sea of minter W116 Mercs, air cooled Porsches, NSU Ro80s, Audi 100LSs, the odd Unimog, mint unmolested Mk 1 Golfs, the odd 2000CS, that you'd wish for. All the local German exotic metal stayed locked up in their underground parking slotsanothere21323i wrote:It's beginning to sound like this isn't really my bag....rh306 wrote:I've got some pics, I'll upload them this PM. You have more faith in BMW 'enthusiasts' than I do. Moderating the NI-BMW page opened my eyes to the volume of untermensch scum. If it's not cheap, scene or slides, most won't care. Maybe I'm wrong....rh306 wrote:People would travel for something like that though I thinkbab-91 wrote:Kos wrote:It has crossed my mind to have a shark nose meet at the ace

I'm not.
There just aren't enough freaks in the UK. Kos will have to entice the Continental types that usually go to the Sharknose meet in Holland.

Last month there were some nice 60's and 60's mercs
If more owners of pre 90's BMW's turn up it would be nice

I went to the Classic Cars magazine night last night - there were some nice, varied cars there. Very few BMWs though, just my E3 and a few E30s. The rain probably put a lot of people off though.
