I got home at 2:30am. I ran out of fuel.
I instead of taking the straight route home i decided to take the long-er route home and have a little drive with Barry. I thought I had enough fuel to get back as the range was 30 miles.
As I was getting a bit carried away giving chase to Barry and the 2013 13 Plate Merc (non AMG) which was all up his backside literally.
Ask Barry for details.
Also i learnt that BMW Emergency Service are not licensed to carry petrol. Luckily I am RAC member and they are.
Decent meet. Not a fan of the Ace Cafe food is horrible IMO.
Good to see everyone. Some interesting motors.

Alot of those Emergency services, don't carry fuel. I also discovered one night with one of the companies vans, they won't change tyres either, that they class as bad luck, & won't cover it!pony wrote: Also i learnt that BMW Emergency Service are not licensed to carry petrol. Does running out of fuel damage the engine ?TPS wrote:Alot of those Emergency services, don't carry fuel. I didn't drive till the fuel tank was bone dry. I was driving till the trip computer said the "range" was 0 miles then the "range" was "--- miles". Then I pulled over in a safe place.
I didn't want to keep going.

so you didn't run out of petrol and just stopped because the computer said 0 miles ?pony wrote:Does running out of fuel damage the engine ?TPS wrote:Alot of those Emergency services, don't carry fuel. I kept going till trip computer range said "--- miles"
There was enough petrol for the engine to run but I knew I was close to running out.
I didn't want to go till bone dry in case it does any damage.
Btw "--- miles" reads from the trip computer once u go past "0 miles"

Must have taken ages riding home on a poodle. Surely more sensible to go either by Bike or E30?andyp wrote:I had just left pete, kermitt, barry, and others at the ace and was having a nice poodle homeKos wrote:I saw Andy P on the north circular
