THE "BIG BARN" Meet in Banbury is on again!

After speaking to good old Rob over the last few weeks, he'a happy to start up the Barn Meets again.
People from past will know this is a good chance to meet up with faces of old, have chit-chat, and hot drinks , curtosy of Rob and his lovely wife.


OK...so tea/coffee/biscuits and cake on Sun 14 April to start.
Time 1-2pm start
Postcode is OX25 4SS,
The Old Barns, you can't miss them.
single track road from the A4260 to Steeple aston, first building on right.


There will be some other guys from PH and perhaps a few other places, but I'm guessing that it is still a bit too early after the crap winter freeze for most to come out of hibernation.

My 60/40 Convertible managed it fine.

Can,t recommend this meet too highly, Rob and his Mrs are brilliant hosts

Yeah Rav...I tend to agree mate. I've just posted on another forum about the meet (being a generic car meet) not generating any interest and will withdraw the offer of the barns as avenue and like you am tired of the bleating about feck all to do then not bothering when there is. If guys want to meet at some Tesco parking lot then I suppose that's their idea of a good day out. Pity really.

I'll be working that day anyway so if some guys turn up then that's fine, they are more than welcome and the kettle is usually always on. but I'm not going to go to much trouble tbh....

Alas there has always some drama/ saga my end when ever they have been held before and I knew I could not make this Sunday so I did not put my name down.

I discussed this with Rav last week, and informed him i wasn't attending. He was in communication with Rob and said he'd tell him in all likelihood myself or topless won't be there, i got the feeling Rav wasn't going either.

It's indeed very sad, only a few expressed interest, some couldn't make it due to other commitments. There was absolutely no other interest from the zone either.

I was under the impression that other forums etc would be attending, it just seems there is little interest in any meets across the board at the moment, perhaps that will change later in the year.

I had suggested to Rav that an upfront non refundable charge should be made for this meets as Rob buys in the food etc, i will PM him and make a contribution.

I did have some guys from PH and a few other forum as well as some guys that saw the sign at the top of the road and just popped in so not a total loss. It would have been nice to see the guys from here again but with this f%%%ing weather it's so hard to try to arrange anything as you guys know. I think what I might do is sort a decent and quite large meet out for maybe mid June and give enough warning about it. We might be able to get a decent fire going that way and make a meal of it. Don't worry about food costs...I'm sure the missus will take care of the excess..... . I'll consult with Rav and sort out a date that may be suitable for everyone....well as can be, obv.

As afr as a monthly meet though....not viable IMO, too many variables.....so perhaps a three-summer meet and a two winter one? Something like that?
