Next Midlands Meet?

Just wondering what the plan was for the next meet in the Midlands?


Obviously its that time of the year when its too cold and Christmas is only a few weeks away... So, plans for the new year?


Anyone interested? Late January/early Feb? Coventry Toby Cavery? Seems like a great location and easy access for everyone, unless anyone knows better place thats easy to get to from motor ways...


Hopefully Rav can jump in and edit this about or make a fresh thread if we have some ideas... I think we should have a few more meets for 2011... A few 'cruises' too driving in convoy to a few places...

Anyway,

What do you all think? And if we book it in advance now, it mens we wont have conflicted arrangments as this would have been on the calender way before anything else.

The cavery in Coventry what Rav usually uses is a great spot, its pretty simple to get to and pretty central.And lots of space.

Think i'm gonna bump this up and see some suggestions for where we can go for a meet.


Anyone know of anywhere local to the midlands close enough to main routes so people havent got to go through towns and get lost etc.


I can suggest a few places in Leicester but lets see some other places first.

Previously we have had it at the Toby Cavry in Coventry (CV7 7HL) and its been good. I only ever been once to that but it had good numbers, we could always head their again. Rav usually contacts hem first so hopefully he could sort that if we decide to go there.


But do you know a local pub that wouldnt mind us clogging up their car park?


And when would everyone like to have this meet? End of Jan? Mid Feb? I dont mind when it is but I think we should try to make it alot more regular.

We only had a few for 2010 and I think we need to be having one every 8 weeks atleast! And all over the midlands so people dont have to travel so far each time.


Anywhere in notts? Derby? Northampton? Brum?

I live just north of you Jim320 just outside loughborough, can't think of anywhere here off hand but will keep my eyes open, would be good to enjoy my first meet soon! Convoy if its in Coventry?

Sounds like a plan mate! The one I went to last year in Coventry we went in a convoy and met at Fosse Park, only 5 of us but was good to drive with a few others. Some from Derby, Notts and Northampton.


So might be worth us meeting up there or something, Asda petrol station at Fosse Park.


So, just need a venue now. Cov Toby Cavery looks like the best place as alot of people have been there already and know where it is.


I know a few places in Leicester area but its not the best access from the motor way and its best to keep it simple.


I do know of The Forest Rock in Whitwick http://www.theforestrock.co.uk/da/103302

Which would let us use there car park and its friends of mine that own the place. Just aslong as we have a few drinks or something to keep them happy. (Cokes of course)

To be fair I work in that area and yeah the forest rock has a good sized car park and there is the bulls head which has a good sized car park to just down the road from the forest. I could ask at both if people were interested. Mid Feb is good for me.

Well the Forest Rock will be fine regardless and like I say, I know the owners very well and my best mate is head chef there. So Forest Rock in Coalville then!


@Imy - Well, lets do that as well. We dont have enough meets in the midlands so i'll organise this one for the 19th/20th and then we just do another one early march? What about in Derby for that one? You know anywhere descent mate?


Even if its only a few cars each time, atleast we're meeting up a bit more often.

Not really any places in Derby that I can think of tbh. There's the Stenson Bubble who hold meets for other forums but I think they've stopped now

Start a new thread on that one, see what kind of response you get, I doubt my car will be finished by then though

I'm gonna stick with the one thread at the minute just to get some suggestions etc. I will try and get in contact with the Stenson Bubble at some point this week to see what they say. We are all well behaved so wont cause lots of noise.

If that fails, we can all come to yours imy for tea and bisciuts so we can come point at your cab.

Might be a good little road trip... All the zoners coming down to help you out. Will have it together in about an hour, although it might look like a tarnsformer if you leave it to some of the zoners.

We can have the following meet at yours Kedge. Just work our way round the midlands fixing up old turds. We can do my cab and chromie too after yours.


Assuming you got the touring on the road? The Forest Rock is about 3 foot from your house so would you be able to make that one if we go ahead?

Hadn't seen mention of that Jim, tourings MOT will be expired by then and won't be getting renewed so will either nip up in the Seat or on my MTB depending on weather and if i'm not working.
