BMW Mini Plant tour Sat 05 July

As part of the new meet (http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... ic&t=99317 )I have arranged to have a guided tour of the plant on the above date. This is a comprehensive and professionally guided tour by BMW staff and is pretty damn rare. It costs £8.00.

There are a very limited number of spaces so I can only accomodate a few members from each of the forums in order to be fair. But if you are interested then please ensure you are
certain about coming otherwise others will lose out.

This is a tour of the Body-in-White (body assembly), Paint shop and the full assembly building.
Address is BMW Group, plant oxford, ox4 6nl on the Cowley roundabout


The following guidelines apply to all tours:

J all tours must be pre booked through oxford.plant-tours@mini.com

J maximum number per tour group is 25

J individuals and small groups may be merged into one visitor group

J minimum age is 14, any underage must be accompanied by an adult

J people with heart pacemakers will not be able to join the tour

J visitors are not able to buy food and drinks at the plant

J photography is strictly not permitted on plant

J visitors can take pictures at our exhibition and events venue T- BUILDING

J mobile phones, handbags and cameras cannot be taken on the tour

J visitors must wear comfortable shoes. No open-toe shoes or high heels are permitted

J there is a charge of £8/ concession rate £6

Having been round the plant myself, I can vouch for this being a pretty cool experience especially if you haven't been to a car manufacturing plant before...!

Just arrived home from this event,a fantastic and very interesting tour taking some two and a half hours.Did you know that it takes just 12 hours to assemble a Mini?(not including painting,that takes another 12!!)Or that 85% of production is pre -ordered and spec-ed by the punter? Shame that only 8 of us turned up......
