Don't remember it in particular at CLM but I'm sure I've seen it at Goodwood or somewhere like that. Not many racing now so I imagine that's the one.Cotty180 wrote:Did you see a white/cream TVR Grantura with stripes. No 64. Its run by a guy in another club I belong toe36guy wrote: Re. Any idea which route and times people are going, I would prefer to travel in convoy even if its just 3 or 4 cars.e36guy wrote: Crossing the Channel:
Given the amount of people that we are looking to take on 07 and the fact that they will all want to arrive at different times it's not going to be practical for me to arrange a convoy and ferries this time.
How are you getting there and when are you leaving. I could book the same ferry and tag along.

Yep. I'm already booked up! But as I'm doing the campsite I need to be there from the off. The real hardcore start arriving on Monday before the race. Most arrive on Thursday and Friday and the frenchies turn up on Saturday turning the surrounding roads to gridlock.Cotty180 wrote:Any idea which route and times people are going, I would prefer to travel in convoy even if its just 3 or 4 cars.

Anyway, I'm heading down with a couple of boys from the e36coupe.com forum on the night of Tuesday 12th June getting the 2200hrs Norfolk Line ferry (www.norfolkline.com) from Dover/Dunkirque and then driving through the night. Will be there around dawn on the Wednesday. Get tent set up, a few hours kip then it's holiday!
You are more than welcome to join us mate if you are prepared to take 4 days holiday!
If you have a look HERE, this is the main thread for the trip and additionally, there is a convoy thread in the same meetings section where those coming can post the details of their departure date and which crossing they are on and with what company. If you sign up for the team car graphics then you will be regocnisible to anyone else on our tour similarly dressed!

Cool. He'll have the only z3 so far then. Seems we've plenty of beemers for PBMW to take piccies of. Reckon we should line them all up on the circuit somewhere for pix etc.
Another load of cars booked over the weekend. 38 spaces left now. Great to be on the downhill slope rather than going uphill. Can't believe how well this has been taken up and the magazine promos are not even due until Feb/March. Think we'll be sold out by then!

If you guys have a specific number request for the graphics package I am doing (£25 per car) get it in now. For your £25 you get full-length viper stripes available in black, red, silver, gold, white or pink (you make your choice on the booking form), unique door numbers and tour logos for the sides. Trying to make sure all cars a dressed up as I will be doing a video and want to get one big shot of all 90 cars driving down the Mulsanne Straight on the Sunday after the race everyone in decals! Will look awesome! Numbers avail are 1-89. Taken already are 00, 01, 07,08,13,18,27,29,37,69(
) & 83. All other numbers available.
Hmmm. No 'I' in teamajm-e30 wrote:77 please mate in white, my dad wont be having any stickers on his tho, sorry if this is a problem
77 is yours.
Am trying to get everyone involved with graphics as a; it separates your out from the general rabble as part of a crew. b; you really ought to at Le Mans! c; you are spottable en route by other crew members so can hook up for convoy.
Also - on Sunday evening after the race, I want to get all 90 cars out onto the track for an en masse driveby for the video I will be doing!

If I'm gonna be brave with my paint, he can too!
If it turns out to be like the 'laser' stripes I removed from my first capri though, I'm coming round to your house for you to do the ******* job!
Any chance there could be something relatively small & subtle included that could stay on a window after the event?
Ideally on the inside for longevity's sake...

Right need to speak to the misses to confirm but i should be there.
1 final question i think.
The £99 for the campsite, is that the same if i stay 2 nights(16th and 17th) or stay from the 13th to the 18th?
Well it would most likely be £125 because of an extra passenger but you get my point i think.

Got all the kit so I might as well take it! Tents can be way cheap - have a look in argos or the like - it's not like it needs to be light / mountain-proof etc!

Tell me about it! Trying to sort the money thing, should let you know soon. What's the count on how many zone people are going so far?

PMSL. Most will be in tents but to be honest. A couple are talking motorhomes but frightened by cost. Me, I'm trying to blag a motorhome by offering a 'marketing tie in' i.e.a plug in the PBMW article! haha. To be honest though, sleep is a luxury at Le Mans!
@jon_bmw - First of all. Do NOT come on the 16th. That would be an utter nightmare with traffic cos that's when all the Frenchie day trippers arrive. Most people arrive on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday before the race and go back on the Monday. You can leave on Sunday but it would be a shame to miss the pissing around on the track after. You ought to be there all day Friday if possible as it's known as Mad Friday and it's part of the whole event. Do a search on Google video for Mad Friday Le Mans and see what comes up. The peppermint M3 doing donuts in one vid was one of ours if you see it! Unfortunately, cost is the same no matter how long you are staying as your pitch is especially reserved for you from the off.
@ziggy - nothing like your Crapi. You will only be putting the decals on for a few days so they will barely get a chance to bond. No probs there. The pistonheads crews with the Ferraris etc wouldn't deck their cars our with graphics if it took the paint off! Also - I'm sure something can be arranged as per your request. A good idea that I have made a note of.
Off to Le Mans this Friday for a meeting with the ACO to finalise details. Going to see about arranging fencing, a security guard and some 'official' photograph/video opportunities on the pit straight itself after the race. You can only ask cantcha! Hopefully having PBMW with us will help.
56 cars signed up now. Awesome. More in the pipeline - only 34 tickets left. Magazine promos coming in BMW club mag in Feb and PBMW in March. Think I will be sold out by then though! Which will be ideal

I just emailed and booked a space!
I've always wanted to go to LeMans and going with a load of zoners made me take the plunge this year.
I have requested no.35 and as I have a black car I have also requested a nice subtle set of pink stripes!
