Wait for meeeeee at Rownhams services then lads and ladies :D

Just checking my route - am i right in saying that Rownham Services are at Junction 3 of the M27?

Used to drive down the A36 to Southampton quite a lot for work, and as i remember there was a services on the A36 just before joining the motorway - is that Rownhams? (Actually that would be J2)

Ermmm - before i confuse myself anymore, can someone just tell me where i need to go? :? :o:

Thanks!

No problem meeting you at Rownhams dodgem.
Junction 3 is the M271, Rownhams is between this and the M27 / M3 split.
If you're coming down the A36, this comes out at J 2. Head Eastbound towards Portsmouth from there, you'll pass J3 signposted M271, Southampton. Rownhams is about half mile past there.
Meet you there at 1.15.
What car am I looking for?

An E30 of course!!

Black 318iS - lip spoiler optional (depends if i get enough paint and laquer on it and some clips before Sunday...)

I can see the services on Google maps now i know where it is :) Will aim to get there for 1pm so as not to be late.

Where are you coming from Rich? If it's Bath or Bristol we could meet up for the trip down the A36 if you like...

if people are getting there early for a chinwag... what say you move all your convoy times forward an hour gordon? Aim to get there for 1 not 2.....

I for one (after possibly the longest distance travelled to get there) would like to spend as much time there as possible (mainly to let my car 'relax' after the journey but also to chat etc....

Dodgem, the one you mentioned at junction 2 is called "ower services" you don't want to stop there as rownhams is just up the road. You get on the m27 eastbound, left at the rounderabout. Go past junction 3, which is the m271 signposted West Quay and Southampton. Get in the left lane now as its about half a mile up the road. If you end up on the m3 you have gone too far!

Gordon its an Audi Avant remember, you don't want me to start calling yours a BMW estate do you? :) Chances are it could be a shitty 02 plate clio though, currently having some dramas with quattro suspension :?

If you left at 11 then we could make it to the services for 1pm assuming no road works or such. Roughly 2 hours from Bristol to the services - we can meet on the A36 at services right by Trowbridge.

I say 2 hours because that's what google maps says if i type in Bristol to Hillyfields... The A36 is pretty good as far as Salisbury at least (not been further in a long time) so we could make up time with heavy right feet.

If we miss meeting up at Rownhams, how easy is it likely to be to find the burger van guys?

^ I didn't realise you were from Stroud. Not too far from me.

I guess the distance for Munky is probably 175 miles or so. Not the nicest of direct routes to get there.

If the worst comes to the worse and I can't get the car finished to go to York on Saturday then I'll try to make this meet in Zimmer's E34 - he doesn't know that yet winkeye

Nice to see such an amazing turnout

As i say not yet confirmed but getting there, we will pay on the day but leave it at the £2 each and make the balance in the donation. I assume we will all meet at the Burger Van at 2pm as arranged, perhaps Gortour will do a collection from all of us and as i am the outsider (no E30 :o: ) will hand over the cash to get in?

Does that work?

I will confirm if this is a goer tommorrow, fingers crossed.
It's a done deal now, we're in for 50 quid 8O.

They are expecting us (between 2.30-3pm) we need to go to "The Keep"and ask for Mo, she will come out to open a 5 bar gate and then we can drive in.

It will be a grassed area, so we need to be careful with their grass and our cars.

Hope this is the area that everyone wanted, never been their myself, that's why i'm following E30 Steve. well most of way anyway winkeye

@ Dodgem, guessed you'd have an E30, just didn't know what colour etc.
Didn't want to confuse or harass some poor stranger in an E30 who didn't have a clue what was going on, and was only there by coincidence.
I have a green Touring, (or Estate, Jon :D), but will be in convoy with a black Sport, a red Sport, a silver 4-door and a VERY low matt black Touring... And maybe a red Touring with full Tech2 kit, and a chrome convertible...

@Mark and Ziggy, you're both welcome to join us, we can meet you at Canford Bottom as before.

So Jon, is "Avant" Audi speak for Estate then, like Touring is BMW speak? Sorry if so, didn't know. Never had one.

Happy to make it an hour earlier to Portsdown if that's what everyone would like. Munky may need the extra time to eat his burger... winkeye

Yes gordon it's called an Avant like touring is to bmw, very gay. Personally I'm calling it all sorts of names at the moment, none particularly pleasent. An hour earlier is fine with me, could call it half 12 at rownhams? Should be up by then :)

Well played Jam, good effort.

Munky you'll make it dude with or without the kseal. Just wack the heaters on full

Only one way to find out 8O

Gordon - I'm not hugely fussed what time we get there but if others dont mind earlier would be better.

Just pm me the postcode of wherever I have to be and a time and I'll let the satnav do the rest.
