I was gutted I didnt get to run the track car today, but hey ho, will have to take it to the next one :D
I was all set to do some runs this show, kicked my self for not doing a few last year. I'd really like to see what it would run compared to an S50'd e30 as it in my mind to maybe do a swap as I must nearly have all the bits apart from the exhaust which I cam make/modified myself at work.

i did turn up had a chat with a couple of zoners then left

ll in all i think 2 hrs 30 mins at the pod and a 3 hr drive to and from

also a lot of negative feedback concerning the zone how again its plummited into the pit of hate pee pee taking twats we all didnt wont to come to . sorry mods but thats what most people think of the zone at the moment so a rething how we can get the zone back to what it was good for .

this post will prob be deleted and i will be barred
The zone needs a team of people dedicated to making an effort for shows, this team go to all shows, or atleast one of them does, with full battle gear and banners, sorts out times, parking etc. kinda like the meet organisers but ones that actually do things

But it's easy to say it, it's finding people that have the time to actually sort it.

I try to do my part with regards to the tickets, if I didn't, the zone wouldn't have even had a stand for the last couple of years

jim thanks for the ticket , and i know how frustrating it is to put on a show , i used to do a couple a year for the crowd down south one at fort brockhurst bbq ect good crowd and then a nice place to have a proper photo shoot , also lulworth cove nice drive there food a walk up the big hill for a piss take then lulworth castle . but i dont bother any more coz of the negative pit in which the zone has slid in to . still love the zone bit its getting really bad. lots on the list then a lot no show

I saw that E30 is a bit of hero especially with the S54 in that. Going to need balls of steel to drive that.

Yeah, the bodywork you see is rough but thats the worst the car has, its not been patched or welded as most so called nice examples have at sometime or another. The car is a work in progress example with parklane classic assisting in supplying parts for a lot of the modified areas and soon to be bodywork/pannels. The underside has been stripped bare metalwork inspected and treated etc.
Image
None of this is obviously visible, the parts sourced for the conversion Z3 m rear end complete E30 M3 front coilovers and custom 6 pot stoppers, 2006 E46M3 engine and 6speed manual box with 40,000 miles (bottom end rebuild + new oil pump) completly standard ecu, ews, canbus and (programable at any bmw dealer) un like 99% of S54 conversions. All new headlights ,fogs etc etc. The car is only on the road to fine tune the running gear ,engine etc before being stripped (engine, box, all glass etc and having a full body n engine bay resto when it will finally be completed. Bmw parklane have been involved from day 1 and were not concerned that the car is not a finnished example, they are promoting the fact that they are available and willing to help with the restoration of any (standard or not) classic bmw and were especially keen to show some customers cars they have and are involved in. The cost and time involved in executing a good quality conversion and restoration like this is many times more than restoring a standard example, and IMO many times more rewarding, the drive, handling, stopping power and acceleration is insane. Comparing your " fly out the door for 4 smakers" quote,is only the cost of the exhaust on my conversion, if you took the time to speak to the guys at bmw or myself you would realise that there is another year's work and 10k+ before the car is a finnished job!

The engine is still being (run in) since the bottom end refresh, only done 300 miles so far but had it up to 140mph (a breeze)(that was a that was on the sat nav)at just under 6000 rpm, the way it picks up speed and the throttle response is insane its an animal. The handling is pretty unbeliveable too its so stable at high speed (just nothing like u expect from an e30) and the feedback/steering, braking is exellent, an e46 m3 tried to barge us out of the way yesterday but soon gave that idea up  Still a few minor issues to sort before it gets stripped/ restored but yeah to max it Balls of steel will be required! LOL

Yes Peter is great at them stories. Personally I think he should write a book or when he retired become a presenter and tell them stories maybe stand up comedy ? I am sure he will be able to serve them punters as he lines up more "victims". You got to laugh at his use of language. Or maybe is car trade talk and they all say "victims" "served" "turds" "council" "scum" etc

No, you are obviously correct, standard cars in good condition will always be sought after and have the broadest appeal. Thats not what i was trying to say, your quote "had a good look at that motor and its a mess" could actually have been " had a good look at that motor and underneath makes mine look like a mess" you have put a lot of effort and coin into your body job, engine, etc (which looks great)but sadly does not reflect on the parts of your car that are not obviously seen, unlike mine! Some would describe vehicles of this sort as having a clean face but a dirty arse! Thus no point to your quote"should have put mine next to it"

Who do you get to do all your mechanical work and who do you get to do all your body work ? Some serious money chucked at this project. Presumably over £10k .... ?

What's a P40 order ?

Wow I guess debadged you can humble some serious performance cars which can be quite fun. Nevertheless for £20k your spoilt for choice .... M3s, 911s, M6, M5, the best E30 325i Sport in the country alot of choice.
