Excellent day, really enjoyed the day.
Good to meet some new faces and some old"ADIT"

That Supercharged thing was nice, but lucky blowing the hose off, and getting it fixed, well done.

Well, the monster awakes from his slumber... Pics being uploaded right now will post a link soon as they're done.
Have to agree with Rav, Initial G deffo has one hell of an intimidating look, especially in the mirrors! Was a great day though, and thanks to everyone for their help and advice very much appreciated...
Can't say I enjoyed the show itself for lack of entertainment, but was a good day down to good company, hopefully many more days to come, and will definately be out for the monsport meet for that very reason (and of course as it's for a good cause)

These are low res, I doubt anyone will but if they want the high res let me know and I'll send them to you...
Will eventually get round to posting each picture individually in the meets/events pic section

Don't worry Kam. We do a convoy to the next one..
You going bimmerflex? We can do a convoy with MStyle, and as I'm not working I can take my car too.
Let me know, I'll pass through yours after work today to see you anyway.

For me there is very little I am ever going to change on mine due to it being an Alpina. It's bcause of how the Alpina looks is why I fell in love with Alpina's in the first place. I am sure Iain went for a Hartge because he liked their styling beston an e30.
I think with e30's most of the appeal has always been about the shape and styling of the orgnal item which is why there are very few that go down the same route as a VW owner would.
We had some nice clean examples and then we had stripped out racers , sexy engine conversions and then classic old school cool. The ultimate BMW show will have moreextream e30's at it and if cliffybabe goes take a look at the stuning work he has done in his cab.

The VW lads have got the show car down to a T! So many different looks, No offense to anyone on here but nearly all the cars look pretty standard, there are not any serious off the wall E30's..like Mugly's harlequin Vento or the Polo classic caddy conversion etc
There were a couple of mint euro look e30's on the stand when we arrived, silver one with some naughty MX-5 rims and a white one with brocks (I think) fitted! Both those cars looked the cats bananas!!!

To me all the zone e30's were compleatly different and nothing was standard c
Some people were admirering my car as they reconise "Alpina".
The dub guys are like people from e36coupe forum in what they like do to their cars. Still loved the look on some peoples faces when I told them only 74 of my conversion type.

im not having a pop at guys who owm alpinas or such like i wouldnt change them if i owned one. But there is so much you can do to an e30 the european guys do it, even decking it on a set of 16" rs's would look awesome!!! im gonna try to get my e30 ready for e38 and players, i got a set of white 17" bbs going on and dropping it more, maybe if i got time flairing the arches out a little. Inside is all sorted out full custom audio install with 3 12" subs in a custom box. I dunno its just my personal opinion, but some of the mk2 golfs that were there, bloody amazing and they are from the same time as an e30!!!

I think this just highlights one of the issues between to two scenes. There is a clear lack of understanding, simply put VW guys don't know what they are looking at, that's not a criticism, its just that they don't because they are into VW's. Much like I probably wouldn't notice some of the subtle things done to a Polo. There is also the belief that the VW scene is just about lowering, stretch and poke, now I don't agree with that, but its certainly a belief held by some BMW boys, therefore they look at all of the VW's with stretch and poke as being exactly the same, they don't understand the subtleties and because of this they don't appreciate it.rado-steve wrote:Nah, big bloke drove it in and was polishing it all day.....nasty horrid thing!Felix79 wrote:The pink car was owned by a girl I beliave.kam325itouring wrote:no offence to bmw guys, but why dont you guys style like the dub guys, ok there are a few beemas which are something special, but i got to say it they know how to do it. Take my car for example:

It looks pretty standard, however what folks may not notice is that it has door handles that are rare as you like, I don't know of another set in the uk, quite uncommon wing mirrors, the front brakes are one of only two sets in the country and not available anymore anyway. The wheels are also rarer in 18's and the colour combination is pure custom. Whilst quite a bit of the carbon work inside and under the bonnet is custom with nothing available like it off the shelf. Then on top of that, I imagine that there were very few at the show who know what the car actually is or the fact that there was only ever 50 rhd models produced. That's not even going into the long list of mods that most VW guys wouldn't even notice. However, I bet if I put my car in front of most guys into BMW's they would pick up a fair bit of what has been done and certainly realise what model it is.
My point is that we have a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding our marques, both marques have different styles, but because of this lack of knowledge about each others there are things that we miss. This does not mean that any scene is richer than another, simply there is a lack of understanding that leads to a lack of appreciation.
