Dave, brilliant mate. Lets hope the magic works. The grassy bit in the last few pics looks perfect.
Keep up the pressure. If you need help, I could have a word with a biker friend of mine, think he's still got contacts with the South Coast Hells Angels.
Would they prefer 30 BMWs or 500 motorbikes?

Where are you coming from? If you would like, Jon, we can meet you at Poulner Services or Rownhams and you could join the convoy.Jon_Bmw wrote:Can someone give me a postcode or directions to the first meeting point. I know where portchester castle is but not sure about the portswood hill bit.
It's actually PortsDOWN Hill, which may be confusing you.
Easiest way, J11 M27, turn left at rbt, follow to end of road, turn right. About a mile up, the road bears left, slip road off to the right. Take the right, follow for about 1.5 miles round a few twisties to the end, turn left. This is Portsdown Hill.
Straight on at a few painted roundabouts, 2nd exit at large roundabout with small carpark and burger van on LHS, follow down to a long layby on RHS with burger van in it near far end. Enter at far end - it's one way through the car park.
Cheers

if there wern't people like me,
with cars like mine,
who would you put down to make yourself feel better?

Excellent, many thanks. It will be much appreciated by all if you can sort this.
We'd better hope for no more rain before next Monday, or we'll have b*gger all chance whoever the contacts are.
Greatly appreciated mate.
Can you please PM any info necessary to gaszman to get things finalised.
Cheers.

Right Gordon, Burger Molester it is, it seems it all you can talk about lol !
Wayne I agree.............we seem to be taking things to a new level which is only possible by the commitment of the Zone Members. Its great to see.
Gaszman......brilliant work ........post up final details as soon as you can
Hongkongfuey..........no fighting !
Suchy....your skills are needed .....you gonna be the 'official' photographer ?
So Gaszman, definite time, definite piece of grass to start, definite final destination if you can.....over to you !!!!
Will ring Sheila tomorrow and give her the heads up !
Fantastic work peeps ...........

I didn't start it Iain... Spook did, we're having a bet on Munky finishing a burger of Spook's choice from Mick's van...
And as for Wayne, I was only translating what he said...
(no offence Wayne...)
On a sensible note though, I can't agree more with the levels of this meet, it's wonderful that so many people are making the effort - as much for a good meet as a memorial for Malc. Again, there are people who never met him who are still joining us to support the cause.
Everyone is joining together to get the meet as perfect as possible, which again is fantastic, and so typical of the Zone that helping is not too much trouble.
The guys involved in sorting this meet, gaszman, Suchy and HongKongFuey are all doing a fab job, and I for one can't wait for next Sunday. It really is going to be the meet of meets.
Well done guys

I'm not worried aboyut my car... more that I might churn up the grass by scraping itSteve-E30 wrote:Me and munky will have fun getting on there![]()
Nice to see they have proper bins for the wrappers of micks massive burgers , Munky .. Be affraid ... Very affraid

Malc, local media sounds a damn good idea, I dont think it would be disrespectful. I didn't know the guy but I'm sure he would have appreciated a few column inches for his passion (e30's) and a bit of free publicity for the zone in his name.

Gordon, meeting at rownhams would be brilliant, its 2 miles away from the misses house, i know where it is and i'm not going to get lost etc etc. I can just see me lost in portsmouth otherwise, with my southampton FC stickers on(only kidding spooky)gortour wrote:Where are you coming from? Pm me the details, and your number and i shall endeavour to be on time or even early.
As payment, I shall bring my tow tope in case any e30 gets bogged down in muddy grass.

i'm sorry as well , the council woman said she wanted an application form 4 weeks in advance, + risk assessment form, + fire risk assessment form. apparently it's a popular venue.
plan ' b' get some cones and red and white tape and make some space in the view point
i'll phone the newspaper unless someone has already or wants to, any takers?

Giggety Giggety Goo!!!
Typical council greed and red tape nausea.
£300 to park OUTSIDE the ruddy place? They're having a laugh...
And as for paperwork a month in advance with risk assessment forms... that's just a p*ss take!!!
Thanks anyway for trying guys, looks like we're back to Spook with the shotgun...
Maybe the papers will be able to put us somewhere nice for THEIR photos? Worth an ask certainly, it's only for a few shots anyway, not like we're going to be there long.

The Portsmouth news are organizing a car show at Port Solent this weekend this is a nice venue. email is lisa.watson@thenews.co.uk or tel. 02392 622205
Not knowledgeable enough of the area, so can't really help much with this...
Nice one from davidt, maybe if they're out and about and doing a car piece anyway, this would fit in well. Worth a call.
How long will it take them to come and move us on if we DO park outside the castle? Bet we'd have the piccies done by then... We could make a quick getaway, as long as Munky and Steve can get their cars off the grass again...

No comment, robbing bar stewards...
Can we (that means everyone!) have a rapid think of where we can park up, I don't know Pompey at all, so i can't really help.
Who ever phones 'the news' could enquire about a suitable photo place...
In the time it's taken me to write this Davidt has come up with a possible contact / idea !!

The car show sounds like a good idea to me F**k them and their poxy castle

I am quite sure that us arriving on mass at the little country car show will be appreciated and we can avoid all the hostility. You'd know Dawn if you saw her she is big enough to kick start a trawler and is Northern with a face like a bag of spanners!

Just thought i'd put in my 2p worth
