ok update with the castle meet will no by thurs for def if we can take cars into the castle but they are a little hesatant about the cars going on the grass . they were thinking of driving in turning around and they parking up out side but we can do this any way as they have a car park out side to the left will drive down and take photos of both car parks so as to let every one no bout the area ok so thats it up to date .

ok update went to porchester castle today sunday 8 th ok took pics

we enter here just by the car park entrance

so as stated i will phone mon but for those with lower cars no speed bumps and the grass is flat and if we have no rain will be dry so fingers crosses.

Where are you coming from? If you would like, Jon, we can meet you at Poulner Services or Rownhams and you could join the convoy.

It's actually PortsDOWN Hill, which may be confusing you.
Easiest way, J11 M27, turn left at rbt, follow to end of road, turn right. About a mile up, the road bears left, slip road off to the right. Take the right, follow for about 1.5 miles round a few twisties to the end, turn left. This is Portsdown Hill.
Straight on at a few painted roundabouts, 2nd exit at large roundabout with small carpark and burger van on LHS, follow down to a long layby on RHS with burger van in it near far end. Enter at far end - it's one way through the car park.

it's sunday 8th 5.30 pm , i've just talked to a neighbour who works for the council ( parks dept.) he will contact the person who is directly in charge of the grass area by the view point. This person then will contact me and i will try to get permission to use it, will let you all know asap.

yes phone her mate , the piece of grass i'm looking at is on portsdpwn hill left of the burger van view point .
they are probably owned or run by different people ie. portsmouth city and english heritage

And as for Wayne, I was only translating what he said... (no offence Wayne...)

On a sensible note though, I can't agree more with the levels of this meet, it's wonderful that so many people are making the effort - as much for a good meet as a memorial for Malc. Again, there are people who never met him who are still joining us to support the cause.
Everyone is joining together to get the meet as perfect as possible, which again is fantastic, and so typical of the Zone that helping is not too much trouble.
The guys involved in sorting this meet, gaszman, Suchy and HongKongFuey are all doing a fab job, and I for one can't wait for next Sunday. It really is going to be the meet of meets.

Malc, local media sounds a damn good idea, I dont think it would be disrespectful. I didn't know the guy but I'm sure he would have appreciated a few column inches for his passion (e30's) and a bit of free publicity for the zone in his name.

Gordon, meeting at rownhams would be brilliant, its 2 miles away from the misses house, i know where it is and i'm not going to get lost etc etc. I can just see me lost in portsmouth otherwise, with my southampton FC stickers on(only kidding spooky)

i'm sorry as well , the council woman said she wanted an application form 4 weeks in advance, + risk assessment form, + fire risk assessment form. apparently it's a popular venue.
