Hi all

Just seen this post.

I shall be going with a mate in his AMG Merc. I may have replaced my 'vert. by then so not sure if I will bring whatever it is I buy in the Spring.

Also, bringing another 3 mates so which cars we actually take needs sorting

Anyway, will firm up soon.

Right then. Been chatting with my mates and think we'll prob go it alone (not wrr) due to cost reasons. Not decided for sure yet but thinking

3 cars
9 people
Dover to dunkerque 8am ferry, wed 11
return monday 16, 4pm ferry
Ferry costs £40 per car
Camping 54 euros delivered (About £41)
£27 each plus race ticket, fuel, toll road charges, drink winkeye

So who else is defo going it alone and at what time's-days are you thinking? Like i said nothing decided yet but recon this is how it'll go. Depends who out of my mates deof comes.

Tim,

We're going alone, was thinking of the 20:00 ferry on Wed 11th.

We're at the Bedford trackday, so can chat there.

Yep, arrive in Dunkerque at 23.00 the drive about halfway and get a couple hours sleep, a good strong coffee and do the last bit.

Just an idea at the moment, as trying to balance time off work and getting there :D

I'm probably gonna book with WRR in the next couple of days... is anyone else still going with them though?

Still a cheap holiday so the cost doesn't bother me (especially as I paid for nearly everything last year so it's the co-pilot's turn this time round!) & the WRR package I reckon'll just make life that bit easier. Still not 100% certain though...

Any more for any more?! I'll have a car full, & maybe another car or 2. Might be on the scrounge for luggage space, or might just have to make sure I take something with a big boot!

luggage space?? for what.

As a student and traveller for many years I have my packing to a fine art.

I'm taking a bag, some spare beer for the journey, a couple spare tshirts, one water proof jacket, spare jeans, two pairs shorts, underwear, sleeping bag, towel, toothbrush, tent, mobile phone, wind up phone charger, possibly a tesco gazebo, folding chair stool thingy.

What else do you need?

Not much more than that, but when there might be 5 people in the car, that much'll be a pretty tight fit! Depending on numbers, me & Mark were planning on strapping some BMXs to the roof!

Gazebo was essential last year, but see what the bar tent ends up like this year.

instead of a gazeebo I could bring a ball of string and plastic sheet!

Jon whose car you taking? Seriously even in the cabby you'll have loads of room unless some of your mates are proper tarts and can't leave the hair products at home!

So your taking Marks touring then? If I'm not driving I'll be partacking in tiple on the move! But I fear Ad will need some form of encouragement apparently there a lovely farm store just over the border that sells cattle prods, that may fit the bill!

I may bring the plastic sheet but I won't use it as a tent, its clear plastic and as the old saying goes "poeple who camp in clear plastic tents...... shouldn't get changed in the day light."
