Dear all,

All Beema's welcome to this and there is a Duke track day on the Sunday as a bonus!

The event below has been arranged by Inspector Derek Flint of the Isle of Man Police roads unit - a top guy who is so pro the local car community, many forces could learn lots from him on how to get the best out of young drivers and gain raport with the Police...(i'm not a copper by the way!).

Anyway read on...

The Island's motoring enthusiasts can look forward to an evening meet on the 10th August 2007, in association with the Iconic Ace Cafe London. The Isle of Man's Roads Policing Unit's Inspector Derek Flint, has organised a social gathering of all the Island's motoring groups, at our very own landmark venue, the TT Grandstand.

Inspector Flint Explained; “there are so many diverse motoring groups here on the Isle of Man —a Classic Cars, American Cars, Bike Clubs, Young Car enthusiasts, Modded car fans —a but they all meet in their own circles. I looked at what the Ace had achieved and thought we could do something similar —a using a landmark location and a landmark brand to pull people togetherâ€a

“ Most people that know me understand my passion for road safety, and motoring in general. Getting people together brings a great opportunity to find out what each of us are doing. When I spoke to the Ace Cafe's Managing Director, Mark Wilsmore, he was keen to lend his support to an event at another great motoring location, here at the TT grandstandâ€a

The evening will run from 6pm to 9.30 PM The format is simple —a Turn up in your immaculately polished bike or car, park up in the pit lane or Parc Ferme, and talk motoring amongst like-minded individuals. We will have a tea stand on the go so people can get a drink too. The DOT Road Safety trailer will be on hand, along with representatives from the Institute of Advanced Motorists, the Manx School of Motoring, and the fire, police and ambulance will be competing for the shiniest emergency service vehicle prize!!

We will have information available explaining a little more of what they do at Ace Cafe, and we will have a few special prizes to hand out to people we think have made that extra special effort. It would be great to see as many people as we can, for what could become a regular event
