Being totally honest, I think last year’s one at Donnington was better in a lot of ways. The non members group parking didn’t seem that well planned and got a little chaotic. We ended up close to, but not next to the majority of the e30s, whereas last years was perfectly executed. The members regional parking seemed really squashed together in places, hard to really appreciate what was there. There was still a lot of unused space, so a bit of a shame. But compared to Donnington you didn’t have to hike 5 minutes to go and seem something! Saw some really nice cars, met some old and new faces and had some great conversations. All those really modern Bimmers left me cold, must be getting old!
Shame it was a tad unorganised but it sounds like a good few attended. Always good to catch up with old faces. Sadly but a fact of life, with social media there are so many shows on that it is impossible to cover that many. Phil B, Dave T and myself tend to go to the lesser known shows and mingle with some good true classics, we admire them and they like our old Beemas. I totally agree with your sentiment on modern Beemas, anything newer than an e46 is fugly to me, there are the odd exception but BMW is now purely churning the numbers out and the days of classic styling and build quality are long gone. I'm dead happy with my Hartge and for winter months an e46 3.0d motorsport touring, bog standard apart from m3 front seats. So who is off to what show next ?
