I'm planning to go to this one, second visit for us. we where there a couple years ago after a holiday nearby but in our E60. Down that way again but bringing the E30 this time now it's back on the road
I'm sure she's lovely mateGortour wrote:Don't look too hard at mine then... Lol

Hoping to do a good post in the New Members section and then will be a nice restoration/mod build thread so you can see what i'm dealing with...
The car's starting making an odd noise today though, so I'll post a video on the Tech Help forum tomorrow and hopefully be able to diagnose before Sunday!
Hopefully she (and I) and the old man will make it!

Does anyone know if theres a e30zone stand ?
Some Photos I took, sorry for the crappy phone quality...

And my favourite pic of my 320i Turd looking classy in B&W

So who's car is who's? I got there around 2, due to my old man getting lost en route to mine, and the M3 (road, not car
) being it's usual nightmare.
I didn't see a Zone flag or a stand so assumed no one was around to say hi to! Had a good long nose around the turd's and no one was about so we carried on round the show/museum and manor house.
The drifting was pretty cool, though it was asking for trouble with a couple of drivers, there was a mint blue 325 (E36?) sport who kept spinning out, so we took a few casual steps back just in case.
Some lovely motors though, mine was parked up near-ish to the main group and I even caught a few people looking round her
Never seen a 4x4 cross country Mk2 Golf in the UK before! (saw one in France once...) which was pretty cool to see.
Hope everyone enjoyed the show, was a stunning day both cars and weather wise!

TPS - were you drifting your white touring round? There was one with a "for sale" sign which was being sent sideways round the track, right up at the limiter! Front nearside shock looked a bit gone, though it could have just been original shocks as all the other drift machines were super tight and I was probably comparing against those.TPS wrote:See everyone down there, looks like it going to be a lovely day
Ah ok, cheers.
I was trying to convince my old man to get a touring (he needs a temporary runner estate) and I pointed out the white 325i, before we saw it thrashing the hell out the limiter and looking a bit dodgy in the shock department...
Definitely should have taken the for sale sign down before that

I did laugh myself watching it getting hammered around with for sale all over it.
I'm sure I said something on the mic about buying a car an knowing it would drift well or something similar.

Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring
Didn't realise you were in a TGS shirt!
Who's was the 8th pic? Was the different blue intended or is that the model? I didn't really notice in person, but looking back at the pics they're remarkably different!?
Love the hartge E30, who's was that?
There was a beautiful baby blue E30 chromie minter, owned by a couple of the older generation, looked like it'd been garaged from new, I didn't get a pic because they wouldn't get out the way
but she was gorgeous!

The Hartge is Iain Hamilton's
8th pic looks like the front valence panel has been replaced. I actually quite like it, with a few more it's of the lighter blue to blend it in, I'd go for it.

It's a bonnet bra, there becoming popular again with retro stuff. I fitted it for stone chips for the road trip, think I'll keep it on for a while I quite like it.

So far so good but Iv also a layer of 3M clear tape under it on the bonnet incase it rubbed or scuffed with dirt.
Thanks about the roof rack, it seems its a love or hate type thing with people generally. We did use it as well... not just for show !

My old man loved it - he thought it was a real nice finishing touch to a mint E30, the wood racks were very nice and varnished
Just read about the Bra's, I think your right about the 3M tape - some horror stories of rubbing paintwork!
