Southern Meet 27th Feb
Moderator: martauto
OK guys and girls, Feb meet time approaches.
I was getting favourable comments about the last one down this way, so proposing:
27th Feb midday meeting in the Ferndown area (maybe the Sainsbury's carpark?), and cruising to the Chequers Inn at Lytchett Mattravers.
Get yer names down peeps... Lets have another good 'un like last month.

Having one that actually works is far finer than having a choice of E30s which don't

Yup, bang on according to Google Maps.
Postcode for the Sainsbury's is BH22 9AL
Will post up a map and some decent directions in a bit to show clearly (hopefully) exactly where it is for those that don't know.

OK, those coming from the East, Portsmouth, Southampton etc, follow M27 to join the A31 at Cadnam.
Follow the A31 until it goes into 4 lanes at Ringwood, and get into the righthand two lanes.
Continue on the A31 to the roundabout with yellow lines on it. Straight over, past the St Leonard's Hotel to the next roundabout, and go straight over this one too.
Straight over the next roundabout too, then stay in the left lane. A31, A347 painted on the road, signposted Bournemouth, Ferndown, West Parley, Longham, Hurn Airport. Straight over this roundabout too, passing Lidl and Halfords on your LHS, and get into the right lane. Go past the pedestrian crossing, and the superstore is marked on the signpost.
3rd exit on the roundabout will take you straight into Sainsbury's carpark.
I suggest follow the road right to the bottom, and park on the corner there.

Those coming from the West, Dorchester, Bere Regis, Wimborne, etc...
Follow the A31 towards Dorchester. The Wimborne by-pass is all single carriageway, the Ferndown by-pass is single carriageway on the first half, going to dual carriageway at the roundabout for the Ferndown Industrial Estate to the right, and the cop shop to the left.
Straight over here, onto the dual carriageway, taking the right lane for the next roundabout. Turn right at this roundabout, and you will pass Lidl and Halfords and the McDonalds, stay in the right hand lane, and take 3rd exit into the Sainsbury's carpark.
Park in the far left corner as above.

From East Sussex, the burger van is about halfway, Ash.ash-e30 wrote:i still not sure as i come from east sussex i come to the last portmouth meet in jan at micks burger van is this fare from that?
You're looking at a good hour on from there to Ferndown, about 45 miles as Richard says. Pub is about 10 miles (15 minutes) on from there.
Go to Google Maps, click on directions, put the postcode for Ferndown into Goole Maps with your postcode, and it will give you best route and time / distance.
As above, postcode for Ferndown Sainsburys is BH22 9AL.
Hope this helps mate.
