I will be there, but mrs 86 is working away all week and I am working saturday till 7 and all day sunday. Not going to be at the meet till about 8ish. Feel a bit guilty about leaving her and therefore not seeing her all weeknd.

Funny how ugly cars just won't die.gareth wrote: my L plate rover 414 was very very reliable actually, in fact despite deliberately crashing it into anything in my path it would never die... until the original cambelt failed at 140k, at idle.strange as it spent most of it's life at about a billion RPM on the limiter!

Nice meet, good to see some peeps I've not seen for a while and to meet some new 'uns.
I've put pics up in the 'Meets Pics / Vids' section.
I do wish I was at LeMans right now though!

No probs mate, glad you liked it!
We told you the turnout would be better once the weather came good, I hope you feel like it's worth the bother now...?
Oh, and I can also confirm that I made it all the way (about 15 - 20 miles) home too!

You can tune into Le Mans radio station for comentry. http://rlm08.0157.org/DRIFTBOY wrote:I'm watching it live on t'internet, but I haven't got sound on my pc at the moment!

I had a slightly longer trip home, not helped by them reducing the lanes on the M20 from 3 to 1 around junction 4DRIFTBOY wrote: Oh, and I can also confirm that I made it all the way (about 15 - 20 miles) home too!![]()

Thanks for the link, but no I can't, I've tried!Cotty wrote:You can tune into Le Mans radio station for comentry. http://rlm08.0157.org/DRIFTBOY wrote:I'm watching it live on t'internet, but I haven't got sound on my pc at the moment!

I went back on the A20, it's a very frustrating road, it's very fast in places but I ALWAYS get stuck behind someone going slow, and there are very few places to legally overtake!Cotty wrote:I had a slightly longer trip home, not helped by them reducing the lanes on the M20 from 3 to 1 around junction 4DRIFTBOY wrote: Oh, and I can also confirm that I made it all the way (about 15 - 20 miles) home too!![]()

I suppose it wouldn't help so say I am watching it on a widescreen 32" TV
I remember 2007 sitting on a plastic chair with an ice cold beer overlooking the Dunlop bridge at 2am

Just a shame it was so wet. Cold I can handle, just chuck on another jumper, wet is just crap.DRIFTBOY wrote:That sounds familiar, soooo many good memories from those five days, fantastic!Cotty wrote:I remember 2007 sitting on a plastic chair with an ice cold beer overlooking the Dunlop bridge at 2am
I think wellies are a good look for you

Once again -
I agree, cold not a problem, wet - miserable!
It was a shame about the weather but we did get some hot sun on the friday, mixed with massive torential showers!
But I'm soooo glad I went (it was my first time) and I hope it make it there again as soon as possible, I doubt next year though because I'll probably still be poor!

To the guy with the E30 to the right, sorry im crap with names. Don't forget the tip about swapping the drivers seat with the passenger seat.

You just need to swap the seatbelt mounts over. OK the tilt arm will be on the wrong side but you get a better seat for the driver.
