For those who can't do the full 4 day trip but fancy the oportunity to experience some of the finest backroads without the hefty price tag of the full roam.

Dates to coincide with Neils trip(Sat/Sun only)

Those interested should contact me so we can get pitches booked at the campsite/s.

Dates now confirmed

Meet Fri 1st May at Kyle of Lochalsh(late evening)
OR somewhere between Kyle and Ullapool(TBA after i've discussed the route with Neil)on the Saturday
Sat 2nd Ullapool
Sun 3rd hoon around/photo opportunities, then home

For the budget conscious on the Friday night

There's a campsite in Balmaccara, which is approximately 2-3 miles East of Kyle for those interested
Pitches are £12 per night for tent, car and up to 2 persons
Website here
http://www.reraig.com/index2.asp

For Saturday night there's Broomfield holiday park which is situated close to the centre of town
Website here http://www.broomfieldhp.com/index.htm
No prices on it though

OR
Ardmair Point Caravan & Camping Park Ullapool
http://www.totaltravel.co.uk/link.asp?fid=603874

Prices an the website

I've been informed by Malcolm that there's a festival type event in Ullapool that weekend, so it would be adviseable to reserve accomodation or tent pitches as soon as possible folks

Ullapool tourism & business association website with details of available accomadation in the area

http://www.ullapool.com/accommodation.html

Add your name to the list if you fancy hooning aroon some of the finest roads in the country

When looking at the Ullapool area,it is worth remembering that this is the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, there is a music festival on in the village and hotels etc are filling up fast. May well be woth your while,Dave, reserving the number of pitches you feel you can fill and confirming as late as possible.... winkeye

Thanks for that wee snippet of info Malcolm.

I'll have a word with the "usual suspects" who have already expressed an interest and see what they're saying

I'll try to get the Friday off as well, and possibly meet you guys somewhere on Skye.

Hope so Dave, its early days yet, but we're probably travelling up the day before because of the distance. Talking to the B&B tonight.

I've had a word with my manager and it appears we "may not" be working on the Friday.
I've said i'll be taking the day off anyway, and they don't appear to have a problem with that

So that means i'll manage to get over there sometime mid afternoon.

Got a couple of routes i could take from here Gray
Across to Aviemore then Spean Bridge/Invergarry then onto Kyle OR follow the main road to Inverness then head down the loch side to Invermoriston.

I'd prefer Dufftown/Tomintoul/Grantown/Aviemore as opposed to the A96 to Inverness TBH
