Considering Selling the Cabby, looks like its gonna go
I bought a Ford Capri from Sevenoaks a few months ago, just by sheer coincidence. As for my E30, someone else bought it from Vines many years ago, while Vines were still trading. I bought it as the fourth owner or so, locally, from a bloke. The sticker is telling of the age, since it's sun-bleached, peeling, and cracking. This is why I said "still got the sticker in" (even though it's old) and why I said it "originally came from" Vines.zimmer-320i wrote:no way!!! vines aint there no more, its now coopers bmw like 4-5 miles away from there go in there and its nothing but bmw mini this mini that, like the new mini is something great!!Cloud wrote:My car originally came from a Sevenoaks dealship.
Still got the "Vines" sticker in the back of it and some paperwork.
how long ago you buy from vines?
take you come this way alot?

Seconded Richard. I know I didn't make that meet, but from what I saw, it went well.ivqii wrote:Oxford is a very good suggestion- there is a great venue there - Rob (lancel1?) has access to it
Also very centrall
How big is it, and how many would it hold? Don't know how many we'd get, but for a "Let's all meet up", you could be looking at 50+ cars maybe...
So who's bringing the turkey and the Xmas pud? Will be a change from burgers...

Easy 50 cars on hardtop Gord
Its a fantastic venue with a shop round the corner and big pub over the road
It IS private though and is actually a highend (very)car restorers.
We would deffo have to ask Rob (lancel1) if he would be up for getting permission to use

Would be worth getting Rob to check the pub for us too, no point having 50 odd people there with space in the already busy pub for 20...
I'll send him a PM, if that's what you're asking Richard...?

Yes Gord if you like - Rob's a very very decent guy but I dont know if a) he would be up for this and b) if the owner of the premises would give permissionGortour wrote:Would be worth getting Rob to check the pub for us too, no point having 50 odd people there with space in the already busy pub for 20...

Not yet Chase, best to contact Rob first, I reckon, and get him to find out if and when we can hold a meet, rather than tell him what date to set it up for.
Richard, I'll PM Rob now then.

HI Guys....just got a PM from Gortour about the meet. I have confirmed that we can have the venue, and will have space for about 50 cars maybe a bit more if we use either the hotel car park or I can get about 20 cars on my drive about two miles away. There is also a new and nicely decorated 42 ft prefab which we can use in case of crap weather, and a shop to buy bits and pieces and a beer and the like. I have a 45Gal drum BBQ if the weather is up to it and I can arrange music (hifi) for the event. The restoration shop will be open again for anyone interested in seeing the work and I can arrange a tour of the barns again where the classics are stored hopefully.
