So folks, we have had a couple of good meets / events since getting together north of the border, for next year we could do with pulling together an events calendar with different people arranging the events (to even the load) and the rest of us supporting. So far we have three suggestions:

When What Where Who
Spring Track day Crail Mikey
July Car Show Scone Graham (is July correct?)
Aug Car Show Calendar Gary P

Any other suggestions / volunteers?

What do folk think of the above?
'89 325i - was an SE but not anymore, was bronze-beige metallic (yeuch!) but now techno-violet (thankfully)
'89 Toyota Corolla GTi-16 - track, hillclimb & sprint car (yeeha!)
'08 Buell XB12Ss - American engineering at it's 'best'... good fun though

What, Graham's organising T in the Park? Can I get Rosewood to play the main stage, lol!

Only joking, I'll put it in my diary. Should be a good week-end, bacon butties for breakfast? :D

"01 Jul 2008 - 31 Jul 2008 Date to be confirmed

The Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Society's Scottish Transport Extravaganza is held in the spectacular landscaped grounds of Glamis Castle. Over 800 vintage cars and other vehicles are on display along with many more attractions. Numerous stalls, a craft tent, marching pipe bands and a children's area make for an all-round family day out, especially for motor enthusiasts. The sales area is huge, with many toy dealers, art, craft, jumble and antiques stands. Glamis Castle was the childhood home of the Queen Mother and parts of the building date back to the 11th century; Glamis Castle's Duncan's Hall is the legendary setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 34th annual Scottish Transport Extravaganza takes place in 2008 "

Thats some info for you all..it is a Fantastic weekend.. This year we had 230 stalls and obviously there are bargains in there for the eagle eyed..camping fri/sat/sun...what i would point out is, there is virtually no movement of vehicles, while the public are on site (i.e 9am-5pm) due to the fact there are over 800 vehicles of all types safety is key..however, that just means you are free to enjoy the odd beer..also there is a cracking wee pub 5 mins walk from the event  i will be starting arangements for it soon so watch this space winkeye the castle is always worth a look round too and its half price for entrants 8)

p.s Grant dont you need band members to be called a band? :poke:

Well here's an unfortunate update, seems Callander is definitely NOT Callander next year! Problems with local council support have meant the organisers have felt obliged to find another venue. So, from next year the Callander Classic Car Show has become the Culzean Auto-classica to be held at Culzean Castle in Ayrshire, see their website:
http://www.culzeanautoclassica.com/7.html

It's a lovely venue, if our contingent from Aberdeenshire don't mind making the longer trip down to Ayrshire... well folks, are you up for it?

This may encourage some of our fellow zoners from south of the border, particularly the Lancashire and Cumbrian folks (?) to join us next year, maybe.

So, I've changed the list, see below. As we participated at Callander this year we will get an invite to attend Culzean next year, when the invite arrives I'll get in touch with everyone who attended this year.

I've also added Moffat Classic Car Show for next year, I was thinking we could tag along with the BMWCC folks. Would be good to get a larger stand (almost 20 cars on the BMWCC stand this year, surely with the Zone too we could get that up to 30!). Interested?

When... What... Where... Who
Spring... Track day... Crail... Mikey
May... Car Show... Moffat... Gary P (unless someone else wants too)
July... Car Show... Glamis... Graham
Aug... Car Show... Chateauherault... volunteer?
Aug... Car Show... Culzean... Gary P

Just realised the Culzean show clashes with one of my hillclimbs, at my 'home' circuit - so it's part of the club championship, Lowland Speed Championship AND Scottish Championship! Basically a round I cannot miss. I'm having no luck with shows this year!!!!! :( :cheese:

So, anyone else fancy picking this up? I'm happy to help, but as I cannot be there it's be best for someone else to lead. Any takers?

P.S. What's happening with the track day in March?

There'll probably be a few folk interested in attending Chatelherault.

A couple of friends of mine go every year, one with the Porsche Independent Owners Club and the other with the Marcos Owners Club (although from memory there was only two of them last year!)

We could buddy up with another club if people wanted too...

Anyone fancy going to the Scottish Modified Car Show at Ingilston, July 20th? Used to be called the Fast & Modified Car Show. :?:

I've booked a place with the Retro Car Club (went with them the past two years), they've still got places and a few E30's wouldn't look amiss on a Retro Car stand! So, how about it, anyone up for it?

If so, join the RCC forum (it's free) and get your name down!

Here's a link to the forum:

Here's a link to the thread:

Hopefully see some of you there! :D

Pod, would love to come mate but I've got a double header at Doune the following weekend and I don't think her indoors would be too impressed with me being away two full weekends in a row!

However if there's something else closer to hand then I'd be up for coming along - although not in the Beemer as she's off the road waiting for me to have some time for her... :( Not enough time!!!!! :-x

As for the shopping trolley, she was great, but it was time for a change, and yes that is a Harley... in street bike clothing... she's great! :D

I'm up for a meet, however don't have the E30 at the moment (she's needing some TLC and I just don't have the time), so I'd probably be there in the Toyota! Maybe I'll not bother coming onto the stand at Edzell!!!
