yeah ive got a Pete Walsh special on the carpet front...
would be very interested in better door cards... and also the rear seat as i said above is too narrow, as its from a cabrio, but really i need to match the door cards and front seats which are black (custom Evo sport-esque ones)
any thoughts?

you'll need to get the rear seat trimmed to match yu front seats dude, an when doing do the trimmers can add some foam for a nice snig fit roung the cage!!!
thay butcher an e30 m3 rear bench ( if you can find one) which will need to be trimmed to match you fronts !!! dus use the cabrio one, or carpet the back. i doubt you'll carry passengers in the back with a cage there.

Wow i have been away for awhile and came back to read this and found that there are 25 pages took me forever to get up to speed but i think the car is coming along nicly. I have to commend Mfree for sticking to your guns and knowing just what you want. I think for every day driving that rear wing maybe alittle agresive but for the track your car should stick to the ground like glue.
Cheers and bset of luck on the project.

Hi all
I know it's been a while but im sticking to what i said before (well nearly) about not posting 'Hopeful' messages about the car... ok its NOT completed but its a heck of a lot closer than last time i posted...
As you know Phil at CPC has refused to cut any corners or gloss over any areas of need, the wiring in all honesty looked like a Gyratory System designed by someone on Acid... Phil has finally remade and trunked everything and sorted out the EWS and comms, the Miltech exhaust is on (and as you can hear below, its umm.. farkin loud! Sounds awesome), all plummed in, I just took up a new petrol tank, proper M3 rear seat, seatbelts and other odd bits it needs.
Here is a link to what it sounds like running (today)
http://www.cpcauto.com/projects/engine.3gp (will play with Quicktime player)
There are lots of little jobs left to do, the interior needs fettling as my seats are not designed for a BMW, we need a windscreen and the bonnet painting (was never done as it was phucked) - and there's a host of other small jobs to do, but nothing too major. Please don't ask me when I will be driving it away because it totally depends on the other jobs at CPC which is VERY busy at the moment. I'm *hoping* its within the next 4 weeks...
Anyone got a carbon bonnet they wanna sell me BTW so i dont have to spend Ԛ£200 getting my old one painted and matched to this colour?

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
I just sold an absolutely mint M3 fuel tank for Ԛ£60 - was so new it still had the BMW parts sticker on. Looks like it's starting to become a car.

Well the day is almost upon us - My M3 comes off the ramp for the final time next tuesday, having run the engine and checked all the systems, the whole lump came out one last time (must be into double figures now) for the gearbox tunnel insulation to be put in, clutch done etc.
I still have to take a few items over there, namely the foam underbumper at the front and a windscreen (these will both have to be bought new unless anyone has either item secondhand for sale???)
The only other thing i have to sort out is tyres as being 9" wide all round but with an ET20 offset, my front wheels, while being nicely inside the arches, are E34 offset and hence with the monster 235/45 tyres on them do run against the back of the arches/side skirts. I rekon 215/35 or possibly 225/35 on the front and 235/35 235/40 on the back should be fine, i might be using Mark's tyres (who has the supercharged Macau blue Evo II M3 thats been at CPC for 4 years and who sold me my 325i touring) as they are the same as the Schnitzer package whatever that is, i dunno, will have to see.
Anyway. when i take it to be MOT'd next week it's then off up to Birmingham to Autobodycare who did the paint job as the bonnet was never done and it has a tiny scratch on the wing as well from back in the day when it was at Zoom.
Watch this space as I know none of you believe it anymore but it really IS there now!

If it's like any second hand BMW screen I've ever seen, it'll be well shot blasted.DaveD wrote:bmc have just had an m3 in for breaking..they might have a windscreen
Windscreens are one thing on a BMW where OE is not the best. BMW glass seems to be soft and vulnerable to road dirt.
Surely one of the many windscreen replacement firms can help here.

You'd be better off going to Southways in Wembley where Pacerpete gets a lot of his cars painted. Mine was done there and itwas a stunning job - beats driving up to Birmingham unless they and only they have the exact colour match.

give it a rest... motor idles nicely now - everything is where it should - Mark (Macau EvoII) is givin me his screen cheap, PacerPete - u up for the Schnitzer/Hartge rim swap? I do have 5, 2 are new and they were Ԛ£600 a rim new... its gotta represent a fair swap right? Otherwise think of all those sleepless nights you will have worrying of me hooning around with hardly sufficient stopping power???
it makes sense...

even WORSE bump steer than im gonna get with zero rubber suspension coz of the incorrect offset!??
I mean HOW will you sleep??
I'd like my fronts to have a SLIGHTLY deeper dish than Mark's tho if you are up for a deal - I think his are a paltry 7 or 7.5 inch wide right? Surely we could do 8's up front no? (bear in mind the 1-1.5degrees of negative camber im running which helps tip the top of the wheel inwards quite a bit...)

Well i drove the car up and down the workshop at Birds/CPC on tuesday
It does all work, the interior is in save the passenger seat...
All that needs to go on it is the front bumper, bonnet and lights...
then she's good to go.
I do need some helper springs and some odds and sods but other than that the MuthaFukka's Tip top!
Check...
