Hello everyone!
I’m from Derbyshire in the UK and have been finding all the information on here great reading up for my future purchase, so thank you everyone who has contributed.

I’m new to BMW E30’s and looking out for the right car, my heart says 6 cylinder and manual, although I’m considering all body styles apart from a cabriolet. Is the M20 engine that much smoother and better sounding than the M40? (I’ve not tried the 4 cylinder)

I’ve been to see a couple of cars and am trying to work out if I’m expecting to much when it comes to condition. My budget is up to £8-9k and I understand there will probably be some surface rust and or missing history. But what condition should I be expecting the paintwork to be in? How expensive can it be to have a full respray or just small areas sorted?

I hope you’re all doing well and have been enjoying your cars in the sunny British weather.

Cheers, Lawrence

Hello and welcome to the zone Lawrence, and a great choice of car you have made !!
Try and find some one you know and trust to talk it all through with you then see as many as you can to build up a picture of what is around , for what cost, and you will see through the "A" holes that will try to scam you. 8)
A load of guy`s will be along to give you some advise so sit back and enjoy. 8)

Only the E46 cab left now.

Hi Mart,

Thanks for the welcome! Yes that is the plan get a feeling for the condition of what’s available and how much they are selling for.

I hope a few people will be along with advice, but I have also been finding some great reading over on the E30 Zone Facebook page.

Cheers
