Happy to be here! - ‘91 318is

Hi all, JC here, the proud owner of a ‘91 318is that I treated myself to just before Christmas in 2019. I’ve been poking around the forum for a few head scratchers in my first 6 months of ownership, and I’ve finally decided to formally join in the party.
Works carried out so far include a solid weeks worth of paint correction and detailing (true to form, the brilliantrot finish was not quite living up to its name after 28 years of fade - but the results more than justified the effort).
The car is generally in pretty good, original condition, and I intend to keep it that way - but there are one or two issues that I will no doubt be referring to the experience on this forum to try and solve!
Anyway, that’s me - thanks for having me, its great to be part of the club.

She looks like a beauty! Welcome aboard. All the iS' are coming out the woodwork, great to see!
Cheers for the warm welcome! I can’t really claim much credit - the woman who owned this car from new for 28 years before I got my hands on it did an unbelievable job, I’ve just been lucky enough to benefit from her care and attention over the years!

So the other half found the sofa and tv in the garden? Looks a great spot for a workshop.
Welcome, I miss my 318is.
In fairness, I think that the wife of the chap who’s garage it is was quite keen to move him out there when it was finished...Sanchez wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 10:43 pmSo the other half found the sofa and tv in the garden? Looks a great spot for a workshop.

Sorry to hear that you’re no longer acquainted, I love mine. I sort of stumbled across it to be honest, but its the perfect car for me to use as a *sort of* daily. That being said, a slightly quicker rack wouldn’t go amiss...
Really nice iS you've got there. A quicker steering rack (and lighter flywheel) transforms them, I'm another that misses mine.
Thanks Kedge! Glad to hear an endorsement for the rack - I’ve just ordered one to fit next week and I’m looking forward to feeling the results! I hadn’t thought about the flywheel in all honesty, but now you’ve mentioned it...
