transmittion issues

i have a problem with my E30 M20 transmission. i change the clutch plate and pressure plate recently but now it has a problem with first gear, every time i engage it doesn't engage and if it does it jerks out of gear what could be the issue kindly assist. how can i fix this issue. thanks

Perhaps there's an issue with either the new clutch (are you sure it fully disengages when you press the pedal, i.e., was it bled properly?), or maybe the spigot bush needs replacing (tucked away in the engine crankshaft behind the flywheel, and supports the gearbox input shaft).

Also, did you replace the clutch release bearing? If worn, they can hinder the clutch from working properly.
