Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I have just acquired an e30 325i sport 1991 in granite silver, 2dr 193,000 miles on the clock, a ton of paperwork with the car.
Will have a fresh MOT, I'm just wondering what it is actually worth if I was to sell.

The bodywork isn't immaculate and ideally what need a respray to make it perfect, but isn't all that bad for a 30 year old car. Engine sound spot on even with the mileage, but it is a bmw so will go for ever.

The car does have some rust issues, the rear inner arches are holed the rear outer arches are ok, front drivers side arch has started to rust, pass side is ok.

It is a sunroof model. Boot floor looks good, under the battery in the boot looks good scuttle panel has a slight bit of rust.

Interior front seat need attention as does the pass front seat, rear bench is fine.

Just looking for what you lot think it is worth
Realistically...
Cheers all

Hi,

It's all down to the fact that these cars are getting less numbers on the road. 201 are licensed on the road. So they are going to start going up in value. Condition and mileage is an issue! Expect to pay less for cars with over 150k miles, but if looked after and money spent on them they will retain a slightly higher premiem. 325i MTech 2 are now becoming sort after! Rusts is the killer on these cars.

I bought mine in July! She has had the rear end, arches and quarters changed and a complete body spray. It looks absolute mint but its not. The jacking points need doing and I had to fix electrical issues, which is nearly completed! I have bought 2k of parts and the big one was the fuel tank has a hole in it! Nearly all these cars will have the rust issue at the filler neck. This winter I plan to get the rust issues done and the engine bay repainted. I would like to get all the drive components clean and painted with rust protection and blacked paint or silver rather than buying new components!

These cars are investment to be honest, but mine may never be sold if I have my way. I want to be able to drive these cars. I have a 68 fastback mustang but you cant drive that everywhere as handy as the 325i.

I aim to make this car worth more than I paid for it. I still paid alot, but I see the value of these in mint condition way over 20k. It's worth what you are prepared to put into it. Nut and bolt resto is not worth the money as it will cost you 10k +++++. One good thing about your car like mine is it has not been modified and made into a track car. Those are worth half a car that has not been changed!

There is my 2 pence on the value. You are onto a good start! Just get the engine checked, if you have not service history, as it may need belts etc changed and the heads done! Check for oil in water and water in oil! 325i can be prone to this!

regards

Richard

325i's are more desirable and a tech1/2 even more so. The issue as RTTBMW said is condition - rust is the major one on these cars partly due to the construction techniques and mostly lack of care and maintenance of the body. In your case, it's a late registered car, a somewhat rare colour that I actually quite like and you say there is lots of paperwork. I've seen some right pigs on sale for 10k that i thought were worth half that but mint examples are on for 25k but have well under 100k mileage. Without seeing the car in person it's very difficult to gauge as my definition of good may be anothers average.

Sold recently I think and I had seen it around Hemel and was very good condition.

Could be a tidy profit in it.

Thanks
