Hi guys, after some advice... I have a 320i (soon to be a 325i) which i use for drifting. It has a welded diff and cut springs. I want to replace the springs and shocks for a nice stiff setup but without the expense of coilovers. Basically i want the best VFM kit i can get for up to 350 quid. I want the kit to be 60mm lower. Any advice will be much appreciated as i am really lost here!

IMO the 60/40 kits look best (60 front/40 back) otherwise the front looks too high, the H&R kit is the best vfm.

Very difficult to find figures on aftermarket kit spring rates, so most opinions will be a bit subjective on how the car feels rather than whether the springs on one kit are actually stiffer than another, and if so how much stiffer. I thought the spax kit was pretty good. If your car is track only and properly stripped out, a lowering kit tends to put it somewhere back close to normal height rather than a lot lower than standard. I'm tight, I'd either go with whats cheapest/second hand as a stop gap with coilovers when budget allows, or else bite the bullet straight off for a budget coilover type set up. this will let you swap the spring rates to suit you relatively cheaply, see the thread that handpaper has on here. AVO also do a universal type rear coilover unit that just needs minor fettling to fit the E30.
