If you're careful then you'll be OK. If not then the surface there is very abrasive, a friend of mine had to rotate tyres on his golf 3 times in one day as he'd shredded the left front twice. The harder (cheaper) they tyre the better it'll wear. As said, R888 seem the default choice for trackday tyres these days.

At brunty, you'll shag R888's!! I'd save your dollar, destroy your tyres then look at something after
If its more of a trackday car than road, R888s are great, but if its more road with occasional track personally I think you would be better with something else- especially coming into winter!

Cheers lads for the info my motor rarely gets used as I have a van and her company golf gt tdi, as its a cab its getting impractical but if all goes well, I have A pal who with A stripped out mercedes cosworth that might go brands hatch next month. He thinks that there will be A few beemers there as well so might have A go at brands.

sean, use what yo've got on there at the mo and then replace tham after the track day.
if you are going to be regular at track days, keep the 15"BBS's you've got spare and take them with you and invest in track day rubber then drive home on normal tyres.

Was going to finish them on the trackday. Got A good set of tyres but there on A E30 down at ants I blew the engine shortly leaving Ants garage. Just like to say Ant had nothing to do with the blown engine.
Cheers Sean.

Great fun although any airfield trackdays will kill'em try the T1Rs if you road run it also then you'll get a good wet tyre as well as something to run home on.
