Anyone tried cutting them so that the spring is released? How far away would you advise I stand. I was thinking 1 mile would suffice

Blimey those things weigh a tonne. I assume they have a large spring in them as front impact protection?

I just unbolted the whole thing, removed the bumper strength, then just cable-tied on the plastic shell of the bumper. Saved about 5-10kgs.
