Anyone here into the 1/4 mile I bought my e30 purely as a toy for drag racing, it aint pretty and wasn't worth restoring ..anyway its raggy thats my excuses in for if anyone see`s it this weekend at york.
Anyway what im getting at is i have absolutely no clue as what to expect times wise from it its an old tech1 and i will be taking all but the drivers seat out, got a fuel cell in the boot, most the sound deadening is gone and a bbtb, oh and a daft side exit exhaust i made up as the original exhaust was hanging too low as i dont have the rear kit on (old bumper was rotten - on the look for a replacement )

so what times are you lot running+ what mods / engine swaps have you done

also i would be interested if anyone is using nitrous on an m20 i have a kit to put on mine, wont be done for this weekend coming but will be on the time after it would be interesting to know what jets + gains people are getting.

You'll probably see mid-low 15's out of it and about 88-90 mph terminal speed

The best I got in my chromie, in full street trim with the M52 lump was 13.9 @99mph.

My old tech 2 325 in full street trim with 17" alpina reps did 15.9

You'll come away wanting another 300+bhp :D

The Easter weekend is usually busy, so get there for 9.00 and you'll get plenty of runs in

Thats my aim i was hoping it wouldnt be too bad but i already know around 10 people going and racing so its not looking good for my idea of loads of runs in to learn the car ... i already have most the bits for a turbo build need the management though .
last time i was at York was in a evo 6 and i was wanting another 300 bhp then, but im expecting to have as much fun in the e30 even though its a true pigdog its still loads of fun to drive

Turns out you were exactly right with your predictions .. strong head wind and i ripped the intake boot in half resulting in two runs doing a kangaroo learner style start ..Highly embarrassing i must say - best of the day i got was 15.2 with a seven seconds flat 0-60 at 87 mph ..did get higher terminal speed but worse run. There was another e30 there black h reg one i didnt speak to the driver so i dont know much about it i seen one of his runs was a 15. i was sharing the driving with the wife so got to actually see some racing too.
