You would be surprised- when adrenaline going it's not too difficult to keep it flat!

When you're done with rallying, go drifting with the big boys

Drifting all over too quickly for me. I went to watch drifting in llandow south Wales and it was only about half a mile or so competitive where as this rally was approx 90 competitive miles. Also there are a massive variety of corners etc. My standard engined 325 would also be a bit slow too

sorry, I was being sarcy.. imo drifting is in an inferior league to rally, rally being much more my cup of tea.
The middle photo you put up is really excellent, it has to be said..

Cheers bud, was supposed to be taking it in the woods this weekend where juha kankunen is a guest driver in the Neath vally stages. Had to withdraw due to a family bereavement but hope to be out again soon. Epynt suits the e30 because of lots of suspension travel and reasonably torquey motor. We came 23 out of 70 starters where there were 4 wrc cars ahead and 280 bhp darrians with sequential boxes etc so really expect to get much better results. Bonus is though my car is about 5 grand and their gearboxes are double that to start with. I do quite fancy a 6 speed box from a z4 if they can fit to get some more speed as 100mph sometimes isn't quite enough

Rally; outside of endurance racing is the only true test of man and machine, and the ultimate challenge for any driver . I can't wait to get back into rallying again.
Great stuff, and yes it is easier to hit a "flat crest/jump" than one might think, especially once you have confidence in the car and your pace notes.
I was just thinking that the suspension travel looks to be a lot. Do you have plans of beefing up the damper rates, or are you happy with the current setup?
Cheers,
Michael.

How I would like a darrian with a sequential box & 280 horses.. The 6spd z4 boz would be possible, you may need to have an adapter ring made up - a few have been done on here, but which gearbox, which engine or which thread I don't know..

The suspension is bilstein 325 challenge springs and shocks which is a compromise between forest and Tarmac. I like the car moving around a bit on the road as easier to throw it into a corner and not worry too much about undulations in the road surface. A lot of venues have quite a broken rough surface where the suspension works well. It would be better if lower and stiffer on a smoother event but it's a good compromise
