Hi,has anyone successfuly had a horizontal dash bar as part of a roll cage on their e30? My roll cage fitter insisted it would be best,I only just manage to get the screen vents in by squeezing them in first so I can bolt them in from the top.
Then, when trying to put the clocks in I realised the won't go in as the bar is in the way!
Best advice please? Bar too much hassle? Thanks.

A good half the bar is in the way.tho I could drill the top tabs into the top of the binnacle though it would be further forward.thoughts?
Going back to the roll cage people isn't something I wanted to to it was quite a protracted process and took 2 months just to get started! I'm sure the work is top class but their perception was the bar should be there if it gets in the way chop it out,big shame I'm sure it would be quite useful!
Update: best advice seems to be leave the bar in, and just bolt the clocks in where they are. It's not pretty, but who cares as long as it's secure!
Cheers all.
