Just having a quick look through the blue book before I start installing the harness mounts. On DWG 40, page 181 "Steel reinforcing plate fixed to the car’s chassis".

Can someone clarify if they need to be welded or is bolting it through sufficient?
Thanks,
Ross

I have only seen them welded on 'BOOK" cars so i would assume thats the case.

Might as well.
Really need to buy myself a welder. Renting one again just to finish this is going to irk me

Sorry to hjiack your thread Ross, but I got the same dilemma.
Except a) I can't weld b) my car is stored in a garage with no power and c) I have no way of moving the car!
A mobile welder would be useful but these guys seem very few and far between.

Nothing listed in the yellow pages?
I knew it was the right thing to do even if it's not required...I was just being lazy!

Nope! Might just leave it until it's just about finished then get it put on a trailer and get it all done when it goes to the garage for it's tracking, MOT etc. Get the welding done then too.
