any one heard of this before - thinking of putting it on the underside of the bonnet to reduce noise transmission to the dreaded trackside noise meters ...i know it iwll add weight but it cant weigh much and it is better than not being able to use the car

ALso it might peal off with the heat of the engine!
I dont know what engine you have, but are you saying that it suffers from induction noise?

i am planning to change the exhaust but i think i might have induction noise and some pretty wild cams that contribute to the noise. i am looking at all options really. dont want to go through what happened last weekend at donnington again !

325i from the exhaust thread
cant see how engine noise is going to be any issue on track, unless you really have a screaming turbo or screming cams?
