followingon fom my noise problem it is time to replace the exhaust system (from the manifold backwards). have been in touch with Milltek and BTB. the BTB is about Ԛ£100 cheaper and is "guaranteed" to be 98dB max. has anyone had any experience of either of these two companies ?? (other that the couple of people who have given me their advice - thanks)
also anyone got any other recommendations for exhaust manufacturers. I am prepared to sacrifice a small drop in power to get teh noise down but dont think i should drop to a standard road system on such a highly tuned engine as i think it will strangle it !

jimmy - what car you running. when i phoned the agent he said he was not sure the system would fit a 325 as it is really for an M3 ?? this did seem a bit odd. which dealer did you order yours through ?? is the dealer fitting it ?? what was rough cost (i was quoted Ԛ£485 which seems a lot as BTB only want Ԛ£360) cheers

Drop John an email: john@thorneymotorsport.co.uk
Mines for a 320i- there not actually on sale at the mo and only avaliable as part of a sponsorship deal so he may not be able to sell you one? and I dont know if that would fit a 325 either
Like I say drop him a line, worst case is he'll say he cant help you, but they really are very helpful so I doubt that will happen.
I'm fitting myself

Jonathan, we ran a BTB on our E30 & I think Paul (M3 GTR's) is as well and a few of the other Kumho cars. The system is for an M3 but is easily adapted and I think they can now do that in house. I also run a Milltek on the E36 and that was designed to be 98db and the reason why I bought it, both are top notch, as mentioned drop John Thorne an email, he's a decent bloke and very accommodating.
please contact admin with regard to sig

Sorry for the mini hijack

on my m20 have a btb is 2 box single pipe 2.5" bore - apart from manifold - it is m3 gpn - joe reckoned it was 88db! - the sound pootling about is just a fraction louder than stock - but a bit deeper - but under load
- it's just sounds gorgeous - i am getting car rolling roaded on saturday - i'll try and record a .wav - interestingly joe reckons having a 2nd box makes no difference to power
