Hi there guys. Looking just for a bit of advice really. Been offered a 325 touring quite cheap through a matye, needs a bit of work etc, and thought would be good to turn it in to a track/drift car.

Already got a set of recaro buckets, and TRS harnesses to go in it (bought them a year ago with the hope of getting a track car but not got around to it until now).

Just wanted to know the key areas I will need to upgrade on the car, and what makes are best for them. So what susspension to go for etc. Will be an evolving car over time as not got an unlimited fund lol.

Any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated :)

I have a set of 17 inch Alpina replicas ideal for drifting cheap (one has a buckle so not track!).

PM if interested.

With any car destined to go on the track sort the basics out first

A service and decent oil, belts, tensioner & water pump should all be changed. Brake fluid and a pad ip grade would be a minimum requierment .

It's will be no fun spending a load on "tuning" and chassis upgrades if it breaks down after a few laps

Yeah was going to make sure it has a good service before doing anything else to it. As for the wheels already got a set will be using on it, but thanks anyway! Whats the best starting entry when it comes to brakes and susspension?

have you a budget in mind

a good quality brake disc, ATE super blue brake fluid with braided brake lines and say an EBC red brake pad will take a decent amount of abuse and this will not break the bank

there are plenty of people who track e30's so there will be some more input soon

No set budget as such, as will be kind of an evolving project. Main thing I need is just to know what are makes to avoid etc, as dont want to be purchasing parts that are just crap lol. Plus insight in to areas to upgrade that I may overlook.

Hopefully going to be picking the car up tomorrow, so will start some sort of project thread on it.

Went and had a look at the car today. Looking a bit tired but can get it back to life at least. Guy who owns it bought it to drift but only used it a few times.

It has a few bits on it alreayd, like susspension, but will asses whether they will be staying on. Its got a set of Recaro seats in there at the moment, non bucket, any one know the worth of them? Got a set of Recaro buckets that will put in there place.

Also the clutch has gone on it. What would be the best option for replacing it, standard clutch, or an aftermarket one?

Thanks for any help!
