The rear beam will be fine. I would just look at reinforcing where the bracket for the rear diff mount is attached to the floor is as they have been known to pull away. Worse if you are going to run decent rear tyres or drag radials. If you're on 40 profile rubber bands then it won't matter as you'll be too busy spinning it up :)

With hard drag launches I would recommend looking at an e36 diff cover which has two mounting wings and modifying the rear beam to pick it up

The rear diff cover bolts to the bracket on the rear boot floor, not to the beam itself so you would need to mod the boot floor to accommodate it.

I went through about 3 drive-shafts with my V8, fair I was drifting, but static launches are pretty brutal especially if your running proper rubber.

I kept snapping cv joints, e24 6 series have bigger cvs and can be used with a e30 diff and hubs.

Although I picked up some lower mileage e30 drive-shafts and all has been fine.

In my opinion you will never know fully what will break/snap/toffee like until you try it.

Its taken me half a year to break everything that's going to break on mine and upgrade, frustrating yes but its all teething!
