Did Brands Hatch yesterday evening, (my first track experience apart from ARDS), simply put thoroughly recommended!

I think this format is absolutely ideal for a first go - you're given:

a decent briefing,
a "bus tour" round the circuit if you like for top tips where to break, turn in etc without having to drive,
marker cones where to brake and turn in,
sighter laps where you follow each other at a simple pace before anything else to break you in gently,
over 2 hours to do your own thing,
probably a garage to your self - about 25 cars and about 25 garages at Brands,
with not all cars out on circuit at the same time (you need time to chill and reflect on your laps, and let brakes cool perhaps!) there's enough room to be comfortbale,
instructors on hand (recommended) to help you get the best value out of your session over half hour or so

All in I paid about £130 including the instructor session. Was a bit nervous about d*heads twatting into my Fiesta (a lot slower than them on the straights obviously!) but letting them pass really obviously and early means I had no worries pretty quickly. In fact I probably got more driving value in a car being passed easily rather than being held up! Only a mazda, so I backed well off, caught him again and the guy let me straight passed probably because of it.

Planning my next one already, sadly from the BMW track car project budget!
