camber adjustment needed.........
Moderator: martauto
Bend the struts... It may sound extreme, but there are plenty of E30's out there with the top of the strut intentionally bent to dial in camber. The only problem, if you get it wrong, then it will be impossible to get each corner the same, AND you weaken them as the suspension forces are no longer directed along the straight length of the strut rod.
Not something I would do (it is a little like cutting a coil out of your springs).
You do not need to buy adjustable strut tops. You can buy offset tops through many distributors of E30 goodies. The offset mounts are just like the factory mounts, except that the strut receiver (or what ever it is called) is offset closer to the middle axis of the car.

ive got a pair of offset top mounts i dont need, they are bmw parts and sold as camber correction mounts, they give a nice subtle amount of camber.

I am really flat out with all sorts of work, otherwise I would make some.
About bending the struts, you end up strut close to the tyre depending on rims size you use to add any decent amount of camber. I would not bend them.
Yes. Fit the control arms from an E46. The arm is roughly 20mm longer than the E30 arm and thus pushes the bottom edge of the hub further out, providing increased negative camber. Used in combination with camber plates you're looking at camber adjustments in the range of -3 to -8 degrees.si- wrote:are there any other way apart from buying adjustable mounts to adjust the camber on the e30??
Si.
The only modification required to fit the E46 control arms is where the round bar on the end of the arm pushes into the lollipop bush. You'll either need a custom PU bush made up or have to have the end of the E46 arm turned down in size to fit into an E30 bush. Having a new bush made up is less of a hassle IMO.

If you want a cheap job you can cut and shut the top mount.
