I want to upgrade the suspension on my new track project but I'm keen to just upgrade dampers and springs, I definitely want adjustable and a 35-40 mm drop, anybody bought a matching set of dampers and springs who can give me some advice, best so far is a Spax set from a forum member.

I've used spax previously -60mm psx kit on track in a 2door 325i and they were ok. I personally think the standard rates are way too soft, particularly the rears.

I used spax springs with bilstein B8's and found them too soft for spirited driving on the road, on a track day they would limit your driving considerably IMO. You should be looking for H&R or Eibach springs

I will never buy anything spax again. I've had a front damper start leaking within a year and have to buy a new one, now been waiting nearly two months (so far) for a refund on the failed shock.
The car also rolls massively through the corners because the spring rates suck.

I've just ordered some B8's, and I was looking at the Spax 55/40 spring kit to go with them.DanThe wrote:I used spax springs with bilstein B8's and found them too soft for spirited driving on the road, on a track day they would limit your driving considerably IMO. I wanted to get as stiff a set of springs as possible, I don't have any other choice for a touring though do I?

I have just upgraded my suspension to Gaz coilvers I did have Koni springs and shocks with adjustable topmounts and Ireland Engineering rear top mounts.
Now my car is properly track oriented with the coilovers which is what I wanted but a bit harsh for some and a bit hard on the road...
The Koni set up was great for fast road and occasional track work, plus adjustable to suit your needs - PM me if you want to know more or buy the lot off me - the whole kit has done about 3000 miles before I changed.
Point is - it depends on what you are up for - Gaz stuff is very good, as are Eibach - depends on your budget / use!
Cheers,
