As the title, I'm doing a couple of track days this year in my road car and I'd like to be able to record them.

I don't want to spend a fortune on a mount but there are a lot out there ranging from £2 to £100+. I'm guessing sucker type, fixed to inside of windscreen will do but any advice is welcomed!

Cheers

Quite a few TDOs and circuits no longer allow suction mounts...

If you have a cage, then weld a ball and socket to the diagonals...Or mount directly on rear parcel shelf...

I've made a bracket that clamps around the passenger seat headrest
similar to
http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/p-hague ... t-chm-.htm

It's OK, but unless someone is sitting in the seat, the seat back moves a bit causing a bit of shaking.

I'm now considering buying something like
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spy-Key-Chain-Cam ... 2306eab86c
as they can be gaffered onto the roof, bumper, dash, etc...

If youve got a cage fitted then this is the part you need....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Manfrotto-Super-c ... 255aabbe4e

The suction mounts are NOT allowed anymore at most good tracks....

Suction mounts are allowed at Knockhill but I think it would be better to have one i could use elsewhere! Pzero has said I can have the one he made (connects to the head rest!) so will try it out in June and let you know how it went!!

Have a look at these

http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/fixed-camera-mounts.php

I've bought the "Race Ready Super Clamp and Head" (Near the bottom). Not cheap but a real quality bit of kit. Holds my Toshiba Camileo OK when on the roll cage.

Below was taken last Saturday

Oh they look good. Thanks for that. The footage is great - looks like no shake in the picture at all.

Your new on here - any information on your car?

Been lurking for quite a while.

Running a 318i in PBMW - 1st year so at the back and car still needs a diet

Car is seen on this link - although not my finest moment of the season so far

It looks like you were not the only one to have a spin at that bent. See the other E30 drivers looking at you as they pass!

I bought a Superclamp from these people:

http://www.b-hague.co.uk/Mounting%20Brackets.htm about £65....
And used a Panasonic Lumex DMC TZ6 (£200 Camera) that does video too...great results and clamps onto the cage in my E30 track 325.....here's some footage to show you what you can produce...On a rough surface with loads of bumps, swists etc
