I was under the impression that steel was the preferred choice over aluminium as it suffers less from flexing?spic wrote:Hello peeps, Would anyone know what i should be paying for the above, is there realy anything between a cheap or exspensive strut brace ?

A strut brace is a simple tension member; as long as it's firmly attached at each end and won't stretch appreciably, you're good. Hinges don't make it better or worse, though they can make it easier to fit.
Probably the best (and among the cheapest) is Sparco's single steel tube brace. It's listed as an M3 part, but fits any E30 with an M20, M10 or M42 engine. I'm not sure about M30, M50/52 though.
