The seats which are in my car use a base mount, they are currently fixed in place with a set of very heavy, rusty, home made jobs.

Having a hard time finding subframes or information on proper mounts for these kind of seats? Not sure if I should just buy a new seat and side frames and be done with it? current ones are a little tired.

Any way :)

A side mounted seat is so much better, you can get it alot lower for a start and you can get the seat positioned at a comfortable angle using by playing with the various moniting holes on the side mounts. You should however consult the blue book to get the seat and harnesses positioned safely.

Rich,

My previous track car (Mi16 205 GTi) had base mounted Corbeau seats. I took the seats and the existing standard seat sliding mechanism to a local precision engineering shop and they fabbed up something from the Peugeot OEM sliding mounts to suit the Corbeaus. I raced 5 seasons in the car(including some Irish events where the scrutineers are on fire!) and never had a problem. Plus, anyone could drive the car because you could still adjust the driver's seat!

What they did for me was probably cheaper than the cost of a brace of side mounts.

Cheers - Alun
