I have a pair of base mount seats. What's the best way to fit so that they are adjustable. Don't really want to pay £90 odd per side for the Cobra ones. Does anyone have any used they no longer need ?

Unless it's a shared car, with different-sized drivers, don't bother trying to make them adjustable - fixed mounts will be lighter, cheaper and stronger. You can fabricate them quite simply from 3mm steel sheet.
If you must have adjustability, £90 a side isn't bad, and you'll only really need it on the driver's side
