Fellas, would appreciate some advice on how far to lower the car for trackday only use.

Will get some coilovers in the future but at the moment getting a cage in is taking up the budget.

It is a 325i Touring, it was a road/track car before I bought it and has adjustable shock absorbers and Eibach antiroll bars already fitted.

The problem being that it is on standard springs and looks like it is on stilts :) what would be the best amount to lower it front and rear ?

Thanks a lot,

Rich

Without spending mega bucks, which should be saved towards your coilovers, you'll be limited on choices anyway, probably a 60/40 would be the best bet. You can also modify your existing top mounts to give extra negative camber with a little cutting and welding which gives about 2.5-3 degree neg, lots of the pbmwc guys have done this.
The coilover kit is worth the wait :D

Depends on the track, but for a simple shocks'n'springs kit, I'd go -40mm at the most. Only with coilovers will you get the very high spring rates that will allow you to drop the car further and still not bottom under heavy load (braking hard over bumps for example).

Here's my old 320i on a cheap -40mm kit (FK automotive) just about to turn into Wehrsiefen - I've pretty much run out of suspension travel.
